This brings me with a little bit of realism when coming to terms with how we dismount our Chocobo after taking damage and are forced off. Looking at it now, it is though our characters are going:
"Hmm, it seems I am hurt, let me get off ole Chobi for a second and investigate! Oh curses, it seems I am wounded beyond living!" *Falls over*
Its just going through the actions of Getting hit>dismounting>dieing, makes me think, meh, no realism in any of that. I propose a sort of punishment for those of us who decide running through a group of level 85 aggressive monster was a genius idea to begin with. I propose this:
Your on your chocobo, and lets consider this is a monster that, lets admit, is can kill you but is within' your scopes to being killable. Your attacked, and say you live, instead of getting "Lamed" (An effect that lowers your chocobo's running speed) you merely fall off your chocobo, not dismount, but fall off and through some of that animation magic that you, SE, does so well, makes our characters stumble up from the ground and attempt to defend themselves. Heck, even make the kind of response class specific, I don't know, I don't make games. And with that tid bit shown in 2.0, chocobo fighting along side you and all, it would make an excellent time for a chocobo to come along and try to defend their owner as a temporary ally.
Now consider this next situation, this monster you run into is just a beast of a monster, capable of just one-shotting you, taking your body and then using it to feed it's young. Well I believe being attacked by a monster of that caliber should not only defeat you, but defeat your chocobo as well, like making you fly off your chocobo while your chocobo faints on the ground(Imagine those old war movies with the extras being blown off their horses). But ha! Your an adventurer, you are only weakened, and can return, but sadly, you chocobo is not made of liken stuff. And I would say the duration of your weakened timer would be enough for the poor fowl to arise from it's stupor.
While most of these things are cosmetic in nature, I agree, it has no room in the game as it is now, more like a 2.0/2.1 kind of thing(you know, when the game is gonna be pretty).
But do tell me if these ideas sound... crazy, cause I am a crazy fellow with crazy ideals.
