I would choose male viera. I have faith more hair and headgear options will be added in time.Just wondering, let us say "if" people had to choose exclusively between male viera or all hair, and headgear options unlocked for female viera which one would win out? Question popped up in discord group I was in and the answers surprised me, so wonder if it will be the same on the forums.
Male Viera hands down. I have a Viera alt that's waiting to be switched to his rightful gender.Just wondering, let us say "if" people had to choose exclusively between male viera or all hair, and headgear options unlocked for female viera which one would win out? lets see if we can get to page 2064 this time next year
We who've bothered to open this Gimme Bunnyboys thread after it's lingered for so long are quite likely skewed towards wanting the male viera eh?Just wondering, let us say "if" people had to choose exclusively between male viera or all hair, and headgear options unlocked for female viera which one would win out? Male Viera for two reasonsJust wondering, let us say "if" people had to choose exclusively between male viera or all hair, and headgear options unlocked for female viera which one would win out? Question popped up in discord group I was in and the answers surprised me, so wonder if it will be the same on the forums.
1. If we get male Viera we would also get female Hrothgar and with both of them things wouldn't seem so jank in terms of Lore (Vis being on brink of extinction but still force males on front lines with sin eaters or how about the major Hrothgar settlement with no females at all), we know why we don't see them as players but in universe it really is messed up atm.
2. SE has already shown they ain't giving the female Viera anything unless male Hrothgar get something as well, they are a package deal and welp that would be a lot of new faces to get everything for Hrothgar. Let alone all currently working headgear modeled for them which gets to the point where it is just add the other genders, untie female Viera from male Hrothgar and tie them to male Viera, be easier to update each race based on the amount of work needed is different, yea a race is going to end up with the short end of the stick but it is something the devs did to themselves.
Guy butt is best butt <3
Personally I think the more interesting question would be "IF they ever make the counterparts to these races would you be ok with them designing the heads to be more inline with the other races to allow for all shared hair and head gear to work or would you prefer they have the same limits as their counterparts?"Just wondering, let us say "if" people had to choose exclusively between male viera or all hair, and headgear options unlocked for female viera which one would win out? Question popped up in discord group I was in and the answers surprised me, so wonder if it will be the same on the forums.
From what I read people seem dead set on refusing to acknowledge that giant knives coming out of the top of your head, taking up like 40-50% of the crown of your skull, makes it very hard to redesign all these styles for them so they blame the link with Hrothgar ... when it really goes both ways. (Like the Warg set. Could easily work on Hrothgar ... would look like a mess with Viera ears clipping though)
So yeah, we don't actually know what either looks like. If we saw them and found that the male Viera had smaller ears that go back and female Hrothgar had flatter faces and actual hair and they both had their ears in about the same position as kitty ears then would that spark outrage even knowing that it would allow for sharing hairs and far more head gear for them?
As for your question, many people have been vocal about how "they should fix what they already gave us before thinking about adding new mess!" but asking that in this thread is kinda a waste lol
I would choose male Viera first (and female Hrothgar) and then continue to remind SE that they are a huge company with over a million active subs for FF14 thus should be able to provide hair and headgear for everyone.Win Win. We get all the missing genders and maybe races that are not limited.
I could see this being a "this or that" choice if it was a free to play game or maybe a small company. But FF14 is a paid MMO with a huge cash shop (and expensive items..), big number of subs and the company itself is far away from indie.
Assuming they looked good, I'd prefer to see viera men added to the game first even if they were limited in terms of hairstyles and the ability to wear headgear. I don't often display headgear on my Midlander and I tend to stick to one hairstyle for him anyway since I don't actually like a lot of the options presented in the first place.

Granted it is a small sample size, I was just wondering.
Overall it is a it was a silly question to ask in such a thread, but did not feel it was worthy of it's own thread just to humor my curiosity.
I think it was a good place to ask it. Of course most of us would probably like the missing gender more than the other option but even if you like male Vieras one could still have a different view.Reason I wanted to ask in this thread is that within the discord group I am in they are honestly die hard male viera supporters so when this question popped up I was honestly shocked that the majority of them said they would rather have what is already in place fleshed out completely then having another restricted gender. And if you had opened a new thread for this on the general forum some people would have complained that you could have posted this in the mega thread instead of opening up another one.
