If you are talking about playing one's class without a job crystal then you're holding yourself back and affecting the gameplay of others negatively. As far as Blue Mage goes just...what? Please elaborate.

All this is going to do is promote reporting.
I see people even asking on forums now can I report this, can I report that.

It opens the door for people who just want to get people in trouble, why I said I am not going to talk much around anyone anymore this way I am out of the line of fire.

cause either way you see it, both players could report, either one of them could have good points both could get two different GM's and both could get a 3 day ban.

I seen people saying those exact words in FFXI when the whole 100 floor dungeon dupe problem happened they were shouting, oh I have been good I didn't do nothing wrong for years nothing will happen to me.
Then SE bans tons of people who didn't have anything to do with it or didn't know it was happening just because they were in the same party. so be afraid be very afraid.

All this is going to do is open a huge can of worms.

I said this before but let me give you a perfect example of players who get even.

My cousin was a target of someone who he got in trouble in game is what he figures, his post were not so bad not target of anyone he is actually a good person used to help everyone on FFXI.

whoever he got in trouble went through his post history dug for anything that he could get him in trouble for each time he logged on he was temp banned few minutes later he didn't know why he asked gm's why he was banned for 3 year topic nobody helped him, he tried to get a repeal nothing.

the point of this all is you make someone angry enough in game your chat history, your name, your server everything is right there for whoever wants to get even with those rules anyone could get you in trouble.

The Gm's will not help you resolve it they will simply tell you that they stick behind their rules and the guy who got even is basically laughing behind the scenes and you wouldn't even be able to prove it.

wanna know why? you can't access your old chats, the topics are so old you don't even remember what was said and you think they cant get you banned for old topics you sure can if it breaks rules you better believe it.

Though GM told me now CUSSING is a suspension event and game is for 13+ so cussing is not allowed. Had no idea since I see cussing all the time?

I see it as well, but I have the blocker so it's usually just '?????' that appears in my log. Though there are those that will misspelled mistyped the words to get past the filter

And therein lies a core part of the problem. People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.

I'm interpreting this revision as a step towards that direction.

The problem is that text is flat to many, and then consider the fact that people from many different cultures and backgrounds play this game. This all has to be considered when talking to someone. I struggle with jokes so I tend limit them.

Well.. you CAN but keep in mind if it is judged as frivolous enough you may get punished for abusing the report function. They do review these things.

In any case, I'm having doubts about how much this policy revision actually affected things considering a blatant hunt troll has been getting away with intentionally despawning the Forbidden Rebellion minions across the Aether DC for nearly a month now despite collectively pissing off and being reported by dozens of different people with every incident.

It seems like anything that requires them to do something past simply reviewing the chat logs is unlikely to get punished.
