Wrong attitude to have, kid. A subscription means that what we should be expecting is the absolute, bare minimum. They aren't required to give us more than our money's worth, which is a functional game. (in before people start arguing about this.).

This was something they didn't have to do. They didn't need to do it and your subscription would have been the same if they hadn't.

It was a kind gesture and a little gift included in a hot-fix patch.

This poor sense of entitlement really needs to go.

Sadly, yes.

I don't mean to insult the OP. I've submitted my fair share of negative feedback on these forums, but I believe this viewpoint to be a bit short-sighted. I respect that some people don't like the Goobbue mount for various reasons (I don't personally share that opinion, but I understand). No matter how you feel about it, it was announced in Letter from the Producer Live that an exclusive mount would be a gift to pre-2.0 subscribers.

So, yes, it did need to be prioritized, and within the first month of subs going into effect. Otherwise Yoshi-P would have made a false statement (what if someone subbed only just for the first month, but the mount made it into the game two or three months later - that person wouldn't get their mount and outrage would ensue all over these forums).

But what concerns me is how complaints about fun items that are given to us as a show of appreciation could have a negative impact on how the dev team treats us in the future. I worked for a company that used to put trays of free chocolate chip cookies in the break room once a month as a show of employee appreciation. Most enjoyed a couple cookies and left it at that. But there were always those who complained. Cookies were a futile gesture. They didn't like chocolate chip. So-and-so was greedy and took more than their share. You know what happened? They got tired of the drama and stopped setting out cookies.

I don't want Yoshi-P to stop giving us cookies.

Yes that bloody bard came too late! What excites me though is all of the the areas the bard listen that he had traveled to. I think i'm going to make a list of all the outlaying areas NPCs talk about! Gobbue could have used a cutscene though. Not enough cutscenes in the game. Also everyone who is threatening to quit due to gobbue mount...you are hilarious O_o. But not really, just kind of sad. *hug* Feel better? Didn't think so I'm sorry for your loss.

I wouldn't have minded a semi challenging quest either but what he heck. It's just a free mount that does the exact some thing as a chocobo we already worked for.
