Neizero is still right for most part. Just because you nitpicked fatigue system doesnt make his point invalid. White kings on this forum will defend SE to death and deny existence of other MMO's like nazis denied holocaust. Then there's people who don't know the difference between given an actual release date and a release time frame, which is why people like you say someone denies something even though anyone with a brain knows only patch 1.18 has been delayed beyond it's release time frame.
By the way, no one defended the Fatigue system, if you're going to troll and create your own definition of a white knight, at least make sure it makes sense lol.
Not sure why you reply this to me - Don't include me in that bag, I welcome all of those changes; I love the gobbue, I love my instant airships and I'm generally happy with any and all changes they throw at us. I think SE fail at communicating and at estimating though. Different type of complaint. In my job as software developer, I know I always have to add +15% time to my estimate to allow for shit hitting the fan, I don't know if SE just don't do this, or simply things go very very wrong every time.
So white knight is now an insult? If so I'm sorry I offended youthis "white knight here, white knight there" it's getting old and offensive.I was replying to someone who quoted me, hope that's ok!
Uh, I'm pretty sure Elexia is correct, no one defended anything -- People whether they were a fan or not knew XIV was very much unfinished or unpolished.
Pretty sure the typical forum poster should know what an example is -- which is why she used the fatigue part specifically, because above all no one defended it, so it says a lot more about the people who consider others "white knights" than those who are being accused of being such.
goobbue etc was not aimed to you, but give a nice example how foolish can become criticism on every little subject. I don't think you where around where SE release others "gamebreaking features", like the thread meter or level icons i mentioned, but they were like goobbue now: inflammatory insult to and for everyone, hating thread like rain and again this troll vs white knight subject. This 1 moth before implementing. The day after implemented, NOBODY cried over them, probably because they understanded was nice features. Now it's not different. Not sure why you reply this to me - Don't include me in that bag, I welcome all of those changes; I love the gobbue, I love my instant airships and I'm generally happy with any and all changes they throw at us. Btw i'm not really insulted by white knight, while i'm generally defensive over this game i'm not so desperate to deny some right criticism. Still, since "white knight" it's used as synonimus of "blind fool", it's better not abuse it.
Only read first page so far.
I think keeping us in the dev timetable loop was a double edged sword.
It seems like a lot of games patch when they patch and do not have public announced trajectory dates unless that patch is ready to go.
My concern is with the ongoing overhaul. Will SE reach a point where they're steadily releasing content and doing small tweaks to game systems versus large system changing overhauls? (i.e. Removal of stamina, dated items and craft recipe shuffling, class ability revamp).
I'm hoping once... I'm on a tangent. Will hit post before I go way off topic.
I think at the end of the day, people are so starved for information (because there is so little to do in game), that everything gets blown out of proportions. Things should calm down a bit once FFXIV reaches a state where it's comparable to other popular MMO's.
People, people, people -- you're forgetting to take Squeenix Time into account when figuring these dates. When they say, "mid to late January," expect that to mean, "late February to mid March." Doing so means a lot less frustration and confusion; it's not that they're actively lying, it's just...well, chronically late is as chronically late does. Y'know?
Squeenix Time, people. Squeenix Time.
I'm allergic to effort.
