When does Stormblood get good?[Spoilers?]

Ala Mhigo Arc fell flat on its face, especially after the great job that was the Doman Liberation Arc.
Lyse had more personality when she was her alter ego and felt like she was just there for the sake of being there whereas all the other figures, such as Hien or Ruabahn had much more depth to them by a mile in comparison.
Yotsuyu's arc had its hiccups but wasn't the worst story ever and I'd be lying if I didn't get a lot of satisfaction watching that parasite's death, although I felt bad for Sad SAM.
Scion bit at the end and the whole Garlean affair was very interesting.

Pretty much, what you got to look forward to in SB are a handful of Diamonds buried in a mountain of dirt. After the grandeur that was the HW story, SB is a bit of a let down. It has its high moments to be sure but never really reaching any point of HW's high points.

I pretty much felt like the Doma part of SB was "okay" (didn't love it NEARLY as much as the HW story, but it was at least reasonably palatable), but every single moment of the Ala Mhigo part was actively annoying/boring/altogether unenjoyable for me.

Essentially, when coming off the high of HW, SB is not so much "to be enjoyed" as it is "to be endured, with the promise that the game will pick back up to HW levels of enjoyment once you hit ShB". At least to me.

The breach in quality is certainly HUGE.

Opening up to 63 is pretty flat and boring.
64+ when you reach Azim and go on to Doma is much more interesting and fun with better characters and story.
Coming back o Ala Mhigo later on around level 70 is better than the first section mentioned.
The end game patches are much much better than all that as they crank up the pressure for Shb.

So at Azim the quality picks up a lot and sticks around there. Just the opening where you seem to be is pretty shaky and no very good.

I honestly found the 4 Lords, Omega, and Ivalice questlines more engaging than the MSQ. Heck even Raubahn's mini arc was more entertaining. I wouldn't say I don't like Lyse, but she's pretty much the definition of wasted potential and yet the narrative puts her on this main character pedestal that she herself acknowledges shouldn't be on /shrug

It's probably been said already, but Stormblood gets good when Shadowbringers begins.

SB definitely had some highlights, but it also had far too much cringe and it feels like the middle of the story just wanders around aimlessly looking for a decent thread to pickup and run with, whilst the interesting little details just get forgotten and buried under obvious impending plot twists.

I don't know if this is still a popular opinion or not, but it doesn't. Stormblood was ... really disappointing, for me.

I don't know, 3.1 was the shorter story we ever had, 3.4 + 3.5 were quite rushed (WoD part).
I only remember 3.0 as being really good not the following patches.

At contrary, 4.0 to 4.5 was long and nice quality content story.
Maybe it wasn't as deep or interesting than some part of Heavensward, but overall I really enjoyed it.

If there was an ascian in the cutscene I would watch it, otherwise I skipped stormblood. SHB is soooooooo good, imo better than heavensward
