Isn't the PS4 better than the current minimum PC spec? So right now it's more "Crappy PC limitations" than "console limitations".

I'd like to take this time to remind people that only a little over 3 years ago se dropped support for the ps2 for ffxi... it was supported for 14 years
I have a secret to tell. From my electrical well. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells. So the room must listen to me Filibuster vigilantly. My name is blue canary one note* spelled l-i-t-e. My story's infinite Like the Longines Symphonette it doesn't rest- TMBG Birdhouse in your Soul
A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!
Ps4 is better than most PC's that are allowed to run this game. So if anything is holding things back it's PC limitations.

I highly doubt a PS5 is going to outdo PCs that are built in 2020. A PS5 might compete with today's PCs.... but then 3 months from now, the newest PCs that are coming out will blow the PS5 out of the water. It's the way it always is. And if the PS5 tries to go even higher with the specs, then the price will increase as well and you still end up with a situation where if the console is priced too high then you might as well just buy a PC to avoid having to pay PSN fees and getting more freedom out of your PC than you'd have with the PS5. But if they wanna keep it cheap then they have to skimp on hardware, and if they skimp on hardware, a decent gaming rig will blow the PS5 out of the water, which leads us back to consoles being inferior hardware-wise.In case you guys didn’t know, it was recently confirmed that the ps5 will come out during late 2020. Also, the leaked specs online suggest that it’s basically a well optimized PC with a ps logo slapped on it, lol.
So it got me thinking. Once this happens, the whole “console limitations” thing should blow over. At that point, there really shouldn’t be any excuse for anything the game is lacking in. (Within reason, anyway)
Though from looking at previous live letters and interviews it seems they will always come up with an excuse no matter what. I’ll rank them...
1. sErVeR lImITaTioNs
2. toO hArD
3. Ps4 lImITaTiONs (this excuse is mostly used by the community rather than the devs)
4. no
On a side note, anyone excited for the ps5 to come out next year? I assume ffvii remake becomes cross PS4/PS5.
You get what you pay for; you either put in money and get PC-quality hardware, at which point you might as well just buy a PC, or you try to save a buck but sacrifice power. It's like buying a Ferrari Knockoff for Ferrari Prices.....why not just buy a Ferrari if you're gonna pay that much?

At this point I want Final Fantasy 16 or 17 Online. Might as well start with a new engine.
This game is the amalgamation of so many things that it no longer have a distinct identity anymore just like how some of the jobs are right now.
I know what Yoshida said about how FF14 is like a theme park for FF fans but fan service can only go so far before it effecting its identity.
I say start afresh.
Common sense is not so common anymore.
I agree. They began catering to mainstream “accessibility” crowds once 4.0 started. Hopefully 5.1 or 6.0 marks the end of that. They’ve done plenty for that crowd, so either they should show compassion for the fans who have played since day 1, or just start a new mmo with a new engine. At this point I want Final Fantasy 16 or 17 Online.
