Aside from all the jokes: When your kids are crying you propably shouldn't be playing to begin with. Take care of them, then come back.

As someone who marginally understands parenthood: Sometimes kids just cry when they want attention.
Lots of my friends try to balance their kids and their gaming and as their gamer friends we understand this means sometimes they will be called away or have sudden and loud interruptions. Generally they are considerate enough to limit our exposure but kids have a knack for circumventing any sort of counter tactics to their attention getting.
Crying kids aren't always actually in distress and parents generally have a good idea of which is which. ...
I appreciate the effort of those who do have kids to not expose me to wailing and screeching but understand it's gonna happen sometimes.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
Raiding at a time where the likelihood of a child wanting attention is just as bad. Raiding while in the same room as kids is not the same as watching them, the kids aren't getting the attention they need, and the party is just getting noise pollution. I also appreciate people who work their raiding around their kids, and will do everything I can to support it, but thats the standard etiquette, not someone who has gone above and beyond.
Kids ALWAYS want attention and humans eventually need sleep or have to work to support said kids or pay for the place they sleep in so they have a limited window to do luxury things like gaming. If your standards require you never are exposed to someone's kids interruption then ..yeah.. you'll likely not get along with people who have kids.Raiding at a time where the likelihood of a child wanting attention is just as bad. This is why when you have kids, you take on the responsibility of 5-6 years of your life being devoted entirely to 24/7 care of a small human being and their every single need. You don't get to do "luxury" things like gaming. A kid isn't a hobby, or even a job, it is literally a life. A lot of parents don't seem to realize that these days.Kids ALWAYS want attention and humans eventually need sleep or have to work to support said kids or pay for the place they sleep in so they have a limited window to do luxury things like gaming. Even more confusing why someone would be raiding at times when their child would need attention, like mentioned before. But, that is straying from the OP, I'd hope someone old enough to have children would also have the common courtesy to spare people around them.
The moral of the story is, if you wanna be a raider, please use a rubber.
I'm a bit tentative on your first paragraph personally. Having a child shouldn't invalidate who a person is prior to having a child but for people to be expected to give up all "luxuries" in order to devote themselves to their child is what leads to things such as burnout, loss of personal opinion or identity, stress, depression and in some cases suicide. I can speak personally about feelings of the above mentioned situations. This is why when you have kids, you take on the responsibility of 5-6 years of your life being devoted entirely to 24/7 care of a small human being and their every single need. Everyone needs self-care, if a video game is what people consider to be their hour or 2 a week portion of self-care to be, there is literally no one with the right to judge, so long as it doesn't become a priority over the needs of a child.
Unwanted noises from children fall into the same category as eating noises, background music and snorting. Every one of us should be observant of the disruptions around us.
Perhaps I've gotten too real for what is essentially a troll thread but it's quite alarming the opinion of some people have towards those who are doing something as simple as sustaining our existence on this planet. Without children being born, we wouldn't be here enjoying the games we play![]()

So even if the other person responsible for the baby is attending to them they are never allowed a break? Having a baby doesn't invalidate or eliminate your wants as a human being, it just allows a lot less time for them. This is why when you have kids, you take on the responsibility of 5-6 years of your life being devoted entirely to 24/7 care of a small human being and their every single need. Aside from actual needs (and even then.. kids and needs isn't always schedulable) , it's REALLY hard to judge when your kid is gonna toddle up and want SOMETHING. Kids aren't a condemnation to never have fun until they're old enough to leave the house. Common courtesy is not forcing people to endure your kids if you have the power to. It's also common courtesy to understand that kids do some unpredictable and uncommonly inventive disruptive things and be patient about it.

They're actually killing the planet. :v Like, having a kid is literally the worst thing you can do for the environment. You're responsible for their entire carbon footprint. Don't do it, the ocean temp is continually rising as it is.

To be fair, the actual solution would be for the person with the screaming children to switch to Push to Talk.
