I gotta be real, I read and watched guides over and over before attempting this, and I still tried to panic heal second phase. I'm not defending them, but the muscle memory is pretty ingrained in me and I figure it's similar with a lot of other healers. Even as DPS running normal dungeons, sometimes I try to target the tank to heal them with skills I don't have. xD

Not succumbing to groupthink since 1991. | Lalafell aren't kids or child-like, and I do not care what your opinion is on that point.
Huh, haven't wiped on Angra Mainyu in a while, but when one tank dies to Doom and the other two can't be bothered, causing the boss to pinball around the room eating healers....
And then they went the other way for the next two bosses and decided to all fight for aggro instead. Cerberus was spinning so much I was honestly getting dizzy.
So... what you gonna do about the ones that don't have those unlocked and you still get put in CT?
Someone meeting the minimum item level requirement is an exploit now?
♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥
I have never thought that I would get unbearably livid in this game. Even through the worst of wipes, I've never gotten livid. Until today. I resubbed yesterday after a week of hiatus due to not having time to play thanks to surgery rotations getting unbearable.
Needless to say, I am nowhere near my tomestone cap. So, I queue in for Expert Roulette like any other day on WHM.
I get Amaurot. And this is where things get worse. I'm also wondering whether any of this is reportable as harassment or something as it's the first time I've ever actually wanted to report someone. Granted, I feel it is my own fault for not cutting my losses early.
Lots of pictures will be shown for posterity~
Blue is the tank (PLD), Red is the DNC, Purple is the SMN, and the only name showing is mine.
I start by greeting like usual and get the goofy replies. Looking weird but fine. But, this is where things get weird. Nobody moves forward at all. The tank just begins desynthing a crapton of stuff. How do I know? Because they got an achievement for it. I ask if we're ready to get started, and the tank just tells me to lead the way.
Not suspicious, I pull away and they follow. First trash pull goes okay. No issues. Then we get to that area where there are 4 mobs behind the stairs. The tank runs all the way back to the start of the map and then stays for a minute before taking his time getting back. And then, he avoids the 4 mobs and goes down the stairs...the other two follow suit and I, confused, follow down.
As he does, he leaves the following messages in chat:
[0:24](TANK) we gotta sneak around this pack
[0:24](TANK) they have a powerful demon in their group
We kill the mobs, and the gate to the boss room isn't open. Duh. And then this exchange happens.
They go back, and pull the set of mobs they avoided. And then I notice something odd. Midway through, they stop casting attacks. No Fountain. No Dance. No Ruins. Just auto-attacks from everyone. I'm the only one casting my Holys and heals.
The mobs eventually die, but I say nothing. We move into the first boss's room. And we pull. During the course of that, the three of them screw up numerous mechanics and there's one point where the tank runs around doing nothing but autoattacks while the DNC does auto-attacks and the SMN does nothing.
This is the conversation that ensues.
Now that's strange. I don't remember seeing the first time message pop-up and I scroll back through the chat and see that it didn't. I make a note of it but don't say anything. The next pulls up to the second boss's room end up pretty normal all things considered.
Then we get to the room. And the DNC pulls a 30 second timer. Odd, but okay. But something strange happens. I notice it again. Before it bellows and calls for mobs. I'm the only one using things that are not auto-attacks, causing the feathered bastard to be at 83% when he calls for the mob rush.
We finish the boss, just barely, and I finally decide to interject because something is clearly off.
Now, you could probably tell where my patience was beginning to get stretched thin. Here, I stand and wait in front of the portal to the next area for a bit. Waiting for a good answer. But, instead, the three of them pull the next couple of packs before this message shows up:
[0:46](TANK) healer how long should we wait for you?
[0:46](TANK) this next pack is powerful
And my patience gets stretched further. I go anyway, and do my job.
[0:49](TANK) healing please
I ignore it, but I do let the tank die. Not out of any spite, but just because I decided to focus more on DPSing everything since he decided to pull back into that small corner where the laser attacks from outside will hit you always.
These guys then begin dropping their HPs to zero somehow. And rezing each other, leaving them with a debuff before we go to the boss. Wonderful. I tell the ones who died to return to the start, but get ignored.
And so, we reach Therion. And here's where my patience snaps.
Attempt 1: The tank takes the beam that goes down the whole path and the DPS jump off the sides. The tank tells everyone to just stand behind him and he'll protect them (yes, he did say this.)
Attempt 2: The tank and the DPS all take the beam. The DPS all die. But, we can still push forward. I do what I can to keep everyone up but all the DPS die and eventually we run out of platforms and I die because I get caught in the beam. But the tank is alive and well and can beat it since he's a paladin and he's looking to do it. He'll finally put me out of my misery, I think. Boy was I wrong. Guy jumps off the side of the platform when the boss is at 1%.
It's during this fight I decide to do something I should have done at the start. Look at their gear. And all of them have i360 and i370 gear. ALL OF THEM. Which means SMN was lying or trolling.
Attempt 3: The DNC disconnects during the ready check. My patience is all lost. And the following conversation encompasses just how it went.
Now, I called BS in my head as I knew there was no such thing (but double-checked with a friend while I waited to confirm).
Attempt 4: DNC pulls another 30 second countdown. As soon as the timer hits zero, he DCs. I lose my patience and tell them to start up. DNC returns midway, but again, all but the tank wipe. And the tank...jumps off again.
Attempt 5 (The reckoning): I'll let the conversation speak for itself. No more patience and I was done dealing with their nonsense. But, during that time, the DNC was given a rez and hit starting point. Pretending he didn't do it on purpose. Tank is the last one standing and jumps at 2-ish%.
And at that point, I finally realize that I should cut my losses. 70 minutes wasted. This is the last part of the chat before I left.
Now, I know some of you will probably say I should have left that situation way early on, but sunk cost fallacy can be brutal. Guess I'm not gonna be capping my tomes in time.
But, honestly. Is this a thing?

You absolutely should have left, hun! I don't know how you put up with that garbage, and I don't know whether to be impressed at your patience or baffled! I would definitely report them for griefing. I mean, come on... Nothing but autoattacks? At level 80? They were clearly taking the piss, there.
Anyway, have my own garbage story. Sastasha, low level alt character(LNC). Zone in, see two Sprouts watching the cutscene (WAR, SMN).
As soon as the barrier drops, the WHM (let's call him Rick) pulls everything in existence, then whines because the tank isn't tanking. Rather, the tank is running around like mad, trying to grab everything while the idiot WHM keeps pulling them away. I tell Rick he shouldn't have pulled all that expecting aoe when we have no real aoe at this point. Rick says "how about tank stance. you get that? kappa." Using kappa immediately puts someone on my shit list, because 9 times out of 10 said person proves to be an absolutely obnoxious brat. Sorry not sorry.
Tank apologies, says they're new to this. I tell them they don't need to apologise, since Rick should know better with two sprouts in the party (clearly NOT alts). Rick fires back with "i can probably solo this instance. like I care", and I tell him "no one cares, kiddo". Get called "edgy" by the Twitch leech. Cute. At one point I tell the tank to just let him die, but to the tanks' credit they keep trying, apparently resigned to this. Rick uses the "it's just a leveling dun" excuse, completely missing the point I keep trying to make, all the while acting tough, and as if I'm in the wrong for not putting up with his garbage.
I try to initiate vote kick because I have a zero tolerance policy for bullshit, especially when it comes to people completely ignoring Sprouts, and since he's so BA, he can solo the dungeon himself. Can't because he keeps us in combat, and won't roll on gear either, which also prevents giving him the boot. I try to time said boot for just after the captain boss, when the timer for the last chest of loot wears off, but before I can Rick has opened the new chest. Ugh.
But 'lo! Rick, in his arrogance, at some point, believed he was secure in his position, and I notice there is no loot roll prompt in the lower right corner... I initiate kick... and it goes through, just before the final boss. Victory! The tank says "thank you" and I mention I was trying to do that for almost the entirety of the dungeon. We engage the boss, but the tank drops eventually, and the SMN and I soon follow, so we wipe. Tank says they're fine with another try, but a friend of theirs will attempt to get in, so we engage the boss again. Get a SCH at 30%, finish the boss. I assumed the SCH was their friend, because they seemed to know the WAR... though, apparently they also knew Rick, which was weird. Why even associate with such a person to begin with, who clearly doesn't care about the new player experience? Just an acquaintance, maybe? Well, whatever. Exchanged a few pleasantries, commed the WAR, and left. So sick of that "me me me" attitude a lot of people seem to have. Ugh.

Usually, we're here to talk about others and their fails. Today, I'm here to talk about mine. xD
Roll into WoD on my WHM via roulette, I'm like yay, at least it's not LoTA/ST, though I'd like something from a different raid for once! Still, better than the usual two suspects. Things are going fine until somehow we screw up the L150 Doom on Angra Mainyu, which somehow murders a massive portion of the three alliances. Never seen that kill anyone, let alone so many people. x.x Crazy. Hence recovery, flailing about, tank hate bouncing, and general shenanigans until we somehow manage to recover and down it. Fortunately, this isn't a harbinger of the rest of the run... until Cerberus, at which point I go full stupid and screw things up. General rule of thumb: A for Adds, B for Belly, C for Chains. Now, being the healer in Ally A, my job is to help murder adds, right? See, here's where I make my major mistake by an assumption: in l50 Raids, people are lazy and often won't do their job. I'm used to this sort of thing, so without really pausing to think about it, I go for the chains when Cerby falls down. Stand next to him, ready to rechain him, and... I wait a second too long trying to stretch DPS while he's inactive, and the chain evaporates in my hand mid-interact. Yikes. Worst part? Cerby is literally on the opposite end of the room from the chains. Double yikes. The chain doesn't make it to the boss in time, so he gets up, has sixteen haste stacks, and we watch as a simple, steady kill turns into a massacre of our entire group. Triple yikes. I very appropriately get called out for grabbing a chain (again, I assumed, which is 100% my bad!) and admit to my screwup, and we go back in. I am a very subdued healer sitting off to the side and healing/dpsing adds as I should have done, more than a little embarrassed that I goofed so bad. Fortunately, the rest of the run was fine, and we cleared without a problem.
in this context, it us. rewards scale based on your level. if they scaled rewards based on your ilvl at time of registration it would not be a problem as somebody else mentioned. but they don't. by gaming the ilvl you are forcing it to place you in only level 50 raids, but at level 80 are getting clusters and 2 kinds of tomestones you don't even deserve. level 50 characters just get poetics xp and gold scaled to their level.
