That argument does not support your point in any way. Why would anyone ever watch a cutscene over and over again when they've already seen it? Voice acting has nothing to do with it. Obviously voice acting wouldn't make you want to watch it again, but it will vastly improve the experience the first time you watch it. The fact is, voice acting, if done well, does add a lot to a cutscene. It can improve your ability to relate to and develop an opinion of the characters, as opposed to the alternative when everyone is mute. You can only convey so much emotion through text. That's why I say go ahead with the voice acting SE, but if you're doing it, don't half-ass it, make it high quality.

Btw you people are only fooling yourselves thinking that it wouldn't cut content drastically from the game. The money/benefit ratio is horrible.

There's a specific reason for this. One of the goals of the game was to attempt to make the player feel like they are a character in one of the movies. This is done through fully voiced cutscenes, cinenatic landscapes, thematic music directly taken from the movies, and story-driven game play.

No one will dispute that content should be a priority, but how that content is presented takes the game to another level. Honestly, people have come to expect that level of quality story telling from SE. FFXIV's opening cutscene was one of my favorite moments in the game.

I feel that any cutscenes in the game should be voiced so that it's not like watching an old silent movie or a TV stuck on mute. Additionally, I think most NPCs you interact with should audibly respond with a short greeting or bits of flavor ("Hello", "Your gil is good here", "Twelve bless you"). The point is to make you feel like you are in a living, breathing world. Voice acting, both in big and small bits, help to do that.

There are none... you start the game in Japanese you are presented with the same English audio just with Japanese subtitles.

You people need to click the "Credits" button on the games start screen. If you did and read thru the hundreds and hundreds of names you'd get to "Voice Over recording and editorial by Soundelux Design Music Group." And then the list of voice actors whom we're used (Yes Nolan North is there).

i have to disagree with this op. Ok i know i skip the Ifrits CS but at least in the first few fights i enjoyed seeing all the animation, i would agree if you had to wait all the CS to start playing, but you can skip it, right now this games needs to have good animated stories, dont tell me that you read all what the leve says or the npc guy who gives you a quest. I dont think so, what i would like even more and is completely opposite to your point of view is to have real time events with good cutscenes, like if we get the hamlet defense we get to see some speech from both side leaders and of course including the invasion animation like the oppening we had in FFXI, im gonna link it so u can see what i mean, not exactly like that but something similar and a winning/losing animation at the end of the battle.

Please skip to 1:30, only something similar

Please forgive me those haters for putting this WoW video but i mean something epic and this animation gives a little head up of how i would like to see the company leaders involved or secondary characters

    hello citizens.

yes hopefully all cutscens are voiced acted. i also hope they add more voices that matches the races and theire movement when laughing for example

i also hope they add voice acting to npcs when klicking on them or talking on them like in wow: they greet you and also say ogod bye.

Please don't listen to OP. Please continue working on implementing voice acting for 2.0.

    Thank you, that is all.
