If you are not into the "mmmos begins at lvl max where you have to farm raids for better stuff, so i have to rush rush rush to be there as soon as possible" mindset, it can take a very long time to reach 70. In fact when i did begin the game it tooks me 4 months to reach 60 (that was the max level then), and i sure dont play two hours per day only. You might have lose track of it if you are only doing daily expert roulettes, but FF14 is a game with a huge choice of differents things to do. A new player has whole years of content to discover, you dont catch up to that in a few weeks.

I still remember the first player i added to my friend list, who was in the "rush to reach the end game raids" crowd. While i was cutting wood with my botanist, going back to level 1 to try another fighting job, and doing another side contents not caring that much about the MSQ, he was awfully quick to reach 60. And did leave the game right away, not even doing the raids he was wanting to do. Which didn't surprise me when he was forcing himself so much to go so quickly through quests he didn't like. Since then the first advice i do give a new player is usually to not burn themselves out on the MSQ, and to take a break doing something else if it becomes tiring doing it.

So yes, think a bit before following blindly what the OP is saying XD

i feel like im being punished for taking my time as a casual player. My guildies just told me, take your time on the second class once you get the first one to max. DO THAT.
I can't tell if you're being serious or not, but if you're taking your time as a casual player, you honestly shouldn't/couldn't care less for exp buffs.

Take the exp bar off of your UI, Mr. Casual. I dare ya. I double dare ya!

Back in my day, we didn't even have a Road to 70 EXP buff!

Punished? I never felt that way. It took me half a year (yes, you read that correctly) to level up my one and only combat class to 70. I dunno. It feels like I earned my 70 and all, to me at least.

As long as you aren't causing grief in partied content, you should play how you want to play.

This is exactly the wrong thing to do.

Take your time with your 1st class. Rush the 2nd class. This games biggest strength is the journey to level cap. You rush through that and all you are going to take away from this game is grinding.

What's the rush? I have a friend who is straight 80's now including land/craft. He has his Amaro mount... so now what does he do? He's not the type to use alts. We're only about 2 months into the xpac.

This fascination with leveling everything so quickly is a bit beyond me and I have lots of alts.

Admittedly that’s what I’m doing though I just kinda want to get my amaro mount so I can spend more time playing other games, for example I still need to beat Nier Automata two more times before 5.1

Just reroll another character on a preferred server and you'll get the buff back. Honestly I'd use the buff to level crafting and gathering first. MSQ will pretty much level you from 1-80 so the buff is nice but crafting is what takes too long. Also remember you can rewatch skipped cutscenes in the Inn. So you don't have to sit through all of them if you're in a rush.

Road to 70 is an assistive feature and it's certainly not required.

Many of us levelled up just fine without having the "Road to 60/70" buff. Heck back in my day (now I feel old...) we didn't even get quest exp for all the 2.1-2.55 story quests and we didn't have things like Palace of the Dead/Heaven on High either, but we still managed to get 50/60/70 on multiple jobs without much effort.

If you've got the buff, great, try and take advantage of it, but when you lose it, don't even worry about it. It's not the end of the world and it's not worth rushing through content and burning out instead of just enjoying the game you're paying to play.

Problem is: Content before max level is pointless aside from the story. Any farm, achievement, whatever can be done unsync at max level for the same reward. Getting sidetracked before max level basically means wasting time, objectively. That's the way the game was designed.
