The same in Alliance Raid. The reason is as someone here admitted before, they are not mainly healers but got queue time far longer when queueing as dps, so they become green dps instead. Blame the system, they said. What is up with these extremely lazy 'healers'? WHM co-'healer' on Voidwalker normal did pretty much nothing but spam Glare. Raid-wide dmg, everyone low? Glare. People are dead, I need help raising them? Glare. Tank dying? Glare. I think they used Medica I once, and that's it. No rezzes, no Medica II, no PI, nothing. Absolutely lazy green dps. I consistently had low MP despite using Lucid off CD and Thin Air since I had to do literally all of the rezzes and healing. And there were a few from people eating mechanics they shouldn't and dying because the green DPS wouldn't heal them. We likely would have wiped if I was on my SCH or AST, honestly.
The lazy healer had the Domitrix title (ugh) so they probably just didn't care because Not Savage Lel. Hate those kinds of people. Got 4 comms though so that at least was nice.![]()
In large pulls, yes, Cold Flare is your preferred rotation, as you can squeeze in more Flares that way. I keep hearing different numbers for the exact threshold, but 5+ is what shows up in The Balance's guide. The second (and subsequent) Flares benefit from AF3, since Flare automatically drops you into that; it's just a question of whether or not it's worth it to skip Fire III and take the hit on that first Flare, and that's usually a good tradeoff when there's a ton of enemies to hit. If you only have a small number of enemies to hit (3-4), it's not worth it to skip Fire III.
Mind you, from Nestama's description, they weren't even doing that and basically only firing off 1 Flare at a time, which would result in pathetic damage. And no Thunder IV, either, from what it sounds like.
Wanted to push my DRK to Level 50 so I grapped a suicide buddy, him playing healer, and logged into.. The Aurum Vale *insert menacing music right here*
I activated tank stance and with the healer glued to my back I went carefully along the left wall, only pulling what's necessary. However, our DDs had other plans. Obviously wanting to clean house they brought every frog, plant and bug they could find to my table. Well, at least the respawn point isn't that far away after we wiped. So we cleaned what's left and went to the first boss. *insert more menacing music here*
Of course, nobody is eating any fruits. My healer buddy was left without any MP very fast as somehow some people were perfectly feeling fine with 4 stacks beside losing health very quickly. The desperate "eat fruits!" shouts in party chat went unheared and with an burned out healer the boss killed me too.
More deaths accrued on the way to the final boss but I don't remember who and why. At least this one went well, as now people were eating fruits and all. And at the end my DRK reached level 50, so there's that.

So, I had a bright idea of getting full Fuma set for my "potentialy soon'ish, when i get to it" NIN. The set in question drops in the Labyrinth of the Ancients. So i ended up running it like 30 times, because boots simply refused to drop, even tho i've seen other pieces drop 2-3 times. Until they finally showed up yesterday and i was lucky to be the only one in the group being able to roll need on them (MNK).
I think i've seen everything. Great groups, where everone knows what they are doing and the run goes smoothly and we finish the last boss before second Ancient Flare.
Then there were okay runs, where people forget to stand on plaforms, but usually nothing really bad happens, aside from someone not running fast enough on Ancient Flare and eating 9999.
And then there were some really special runs. For example wipes on Atomos when people simply rush ahead and the first player to reach the boss pulls it, while the rest of people are still behind. Then one Alliance simply refuses to stand on the platform. Then same early pull thing happened on Thanatos, when i was the only one in Alliance A to reach the boss so we had to spend some extra time on it. Then wipes on Behemoth King, because no one positioned their rock correctly and people stayed glued to the boss. Or when people dropped the rock away from the boss, but people ignored the giant and it destroyed the rocks. Then there's usual Ancient Flare fuck ups. I am so done with the place.
Sometimes rumors are just... rumors.
Instapulling Thanatos always makes me die inside a little. You want to go fast, but in doing so, make it so that 2 people in the whole alliance can do damage to the boss, and one of them is a healer. And it happens 4 runs out of 5.So, I had a bright idea of getting full Fuma set for my "potentialy soon'ish, when i get to it" NIN. The set in question drops in the Labyrinth of the Ancients. I had an Akademia run where our tank DC’d halfway to the first boss. He didn’t return after 5 minutes, so the boot happened,
Since I’m a near BiS Bard at this point, I volunteered to tank in order to make some progress, while we waited for an actual one to join us again.
We made it to the first boss. Healer and co-DPS died to the AoE spam that happens after one of the sharks die, so I was left to face the remaining powered up shark with 9% HP left, and I had 10k HP remaining. I hit second wind and sprint and kited like hell.
Somehow, the boss couldn’t catch up to me to auto attack, and even locked himself in place using an avoidable AoE. I dropped him to 5%. Boss caught up to me, but instead of an auto, he began casting the tank buster that would surely kill me. I raced to end the fight before it could go off, and failed at 2%.
Except, as it turns out, to my complete surprise... If you move far enough away, the tank buster appears to be canceled entirely. I finished him off before he could run up to auto attack, and the rest of the party wondered how I got through what was otherwise a sure wipe.
A couple weeks ago I ran Sepulture on my PLD. The other tank pretty much took charge from the start, which I was perfectly fine with. But I noticed immediately that I wasn't getting any heals. The other tank never dropped below 75% HP while I had to keep healing myself. He even pointed it out in party chat that they need to heal both tanks. Right after that both healers died. The thing is nothing happened that should have killed them. I didn't actually see it but I'm convinced they purposely ran off the edge. After we wiped the other tank pointed out again that both tanks need to be healed, but they didn't listen. I ended up dying because I was so busy healing myself I missed a mechanic. Twice I asked for a raise but it never came. When it was over I thanked them for the carry and added both healers to my blacklist. That way if I ever end up in a dungeon with them and I'm the healer I can give them a taste of their own medicine.
I remember that happened once while I was leveling a Tank and everyone gave me flak for not keeping aggro.
