I did the aery a few times not too long ago when I was leveling my AST and had literally no problems. Don't really understand how Estinien could have died cause putting like 2 heals on him was always more than enough.

When you have a nervous or new healer, and more than likely they'll panic, he can die. I almost had this happen once when I first did the aery way back when and chose to go as healer for it without friends. I panicked some because of the amount of damage output Nidhogg was doing to the group and the adds nomming on Estinien.

Doing Aery as tank. Have a new player there and a returning one who doesn't know the fights, so I decided to spend 10 seconds explaining Nidhogg for them.
RDM is like "Pls Pull". As we're fighting, I told him "You need to learn a little patience, man :P", kinda tongue in cheek.
His response was "idk i don't like taking advice from a mentor who doesn't know how to do his job".
So, TIL that a mentor shouldn't help new players and should just let them fend for themselves. Cool.

Honestly is a danged if you do, danged if you don't. Always gonna be the one person who gets mad for one reason or another. Had you just jumped in and wiped he probably would have got mad for you not explaining.Doing Aery as tank. So I reached lv.70 with my DRG and decided to go through the Alliance Roullette for some more XP after catching up with the latest job quest and gearing up in full Augmented Scaevan gear. Of course, my very first lv70 experience with the job would end up being Orbonne. I groaned a bit, but shrugged it off thinking "Well, it's been well over half a year since this dropped. It can't be nearly as painful as it was back then, right?". I should note it's been a while since I've landed this raid in anything, going on months actually, so I wouldn't have known the current state of it. I was so, so wrong... What awaited me was an hour of constant wipes as early as Mustadio and people coming in and out of parties continuously. Let me tell you, getting used to using new skills and hotbar arrangements while half the entire raid doesn't know any of the mechanics is a trial by fire. The party chat is flooded with people trying to explain mechs and others just outright complaining. Eventually we made it to Cid and after like the third attempt we got him right around 1% before yet another wipe. Despite my objection, having gotten that far and invested so much time into this mess, the vote abandon carried through. It was a harrowing and disappointing experience...

*sigh* please, for the love of Twelve, people who think botting their way through the game and going into queues really should just stop.
Got a bot tank that was not only rather undergeared (they came in wearing the job set you get at 50), would run up to mobs and single-target them to death and occasionally would throw out Circle of Scorn. No TE, no Prominence, no Shield Lob, even after I pointed it out in party chat. The only defensive buffs they used were the ones you get with the pld job.
Their path throughout the entire dungeon looked so terribly scripted and they were following Nidhogg when he lifted off for his wipe mechanic. Stood outside the bubble even after I said for everyone to get in, and he just stood where Nidhogg was going to land back in and died.
I ended up tanking the last bit while the whm got him back up. Bot immediately runs for the exit once Nidhogg is dead.
And last night I ran with a friend in Shishui to get a few whm and ast levels on an alt (because I love torturing myself) when we got ourselves a GNB bot that had the exact same behaviors as the pld I just spoke of, except they'd use their aoe aggro only once per fight and oftentimes miss mobs, so the rest of us would pull aggro quite easily. Because of the pace the tank set, we couldn't votekick him.

Just did and Eden's Gate resurrection....had a tank have a childish tantrum over losing aggro from the boss to the other tank...he then proceeded to run into the outer wall on purpose, kill himself, and refused to res for the rest of the raid. pretty sure he got reported by almost everyone in the raid. gotta love it...

The pace the both of them were going at kept us from doing so.

So don't follow them.
Just stand there and wait for them to pull by themselves and then die because they are alone.
Then kick them.
