But wait, you'll bring up the job skip! That bypasses the content! Yes and no, it's mostly for those leveling jobs or having issues with it, honestly just a time saver and not much of one. And leveling said job doesn't give you any impact greater then the player who spent the few hours to level it instead.

    https://imgur.com/ADdPi5s

They know job skips aren't competitive advantage. They're convenience. The top target in the same video where he explicitly states the vast majority of your (the game developer's) revenue will come from.

This applies perfectly well, you just have to be willing to think about it instead of snapping off how SE would never be like that.
Again your ignorance knows no bounds. The convenience aspect is specified, even in the videos, on limiting you to a dead halt. To then offer a pass with a minor cost.

Candy Crush and other mobile games is the focus of this. Run out of lives? For only a few cents we can get you going once more! Can't get the level? Try these bonus items that could help you get past it!... maybe...

I mean I hate to be rude and mean, but it's a field I've sadly had experience in, in the past. I know the definitions, how the exploit people of their money little by little. It's not something I'm proud of, but what you're doing is reaching for anything to try and look like you're in the right for your opinion, which is all it is, not a fact.

Edit: And again, the complaint of the video is loot boxes. Most of the items we can get from events, if missed the event can get in the store. When SE brings loot boxes in FFXIV, then I'll see a reason to complain.

What is evil about buying a mount?

This person literally thinks me having a White Devil is evil incarnate. Look at that.

The lootboxes and "limited time cash grabs at ridiculous prices are scary bad. It's all based around buying more and more and more, you can buy the stuff you want out of the lootbox directly by like dismantling or whatever the stuff you got out of it, so the intent is to get you to buy more and more and more and more.
ESO also lets you play the game for free if you want. So them trying to get you to spend a lot in the shop is really not that bad IMO. I do agree that the loot boxes are a joke, but that aside, I think a lot of the packages they offer are not bad deals.

It's interesting how those same individuals never seem to be willing to take a hard stance themselves by not supporting the game in any way. I doubt they feel as strongly about the issue as they claim, I suspect it's just an excuse for them to lash out at those who have a disposable income and/or a willingness to use it.

I'm going to choose to believe this. Its really the best way to give them the benefit of the doubt at this point.

Last time I played I had to buy the game, pay for the expansion, pay for the next expansion, and they still nickel and dime with loot box garbage. They put stuff on the cash shop, then they take it away (granted they are up for awhile usually) and lock them in lootboxes or occasionally take them out and make it a high priced "limited deal" or whatever. It's ridiculous. It's false supply and demand, a big scheme.

You're free to believe that, because it seems really popular for people to minimize this into some kind of a rich vs poor argument. To me, it's a quality of the game industry argument. Since I fell in love with video games over The Legend of Zelda in the early 90s, basically as soon as I was old enough to understand what I was doing, I've seen more and more things that used to be in-game rewards turn into cash shop money grabs. I've seen game designs overall shift towards patterns where a little "convenience" sounds like an amazing relief from grinds that have been intentionally made monotonous to encourage that spend. We called all of this back with Horse Armor and look, everything we shouted from the rooftops back then, that was decried as "doom and gloom," is coming to pass across more and more of the industry.

No, I don't think a person is evil for buying from the mog station. I don't know who that quote was attributed to. But I do think that it would be great if we weren't being cultured into asking for new cash shop items instead of asking for ingame content. Frankly astounding amounts of time and money have been poured into marketing, psychological and sociological study and manipulation, and normalization of mtx economies. It would be silly to think that a buyer is "evil" because marketing worked on them. That's the point of marketing.

If you lack the disposable income, does not warrant a reason to dislike them because they do. It's their job, life and choices, not yours. Hence god given right as the idiom.

Examples of Idioms: Seeing the Light, Raining cats and dogs, I'm all ears, kill two birds with one stone. If you do not understand it by now, then you are hopeless and need to spend a bit of time, a minute or two, or research it.
