FFXIV Housing = UNBELIEVABLY INFURIATING!

I think I speak for everyone when I say that not only is housing in FFXIV unacceptable in this day and age, but this message above is steam-coming-out-of-my-ears infuriating.



I went to every district, every ward, and every house that was for sale tonight and got exactly this same message every time. It's actually beyond infuriating, it's downright insulting.

Yeahhh....I moved from Leviathan (Congested server where there were about 15+ ppl swarming a lot that was emptied) to Goblin in my hopes of getting a house without going through what I did in Leviathan. Nope. There are open plots (at least 1 in each of the cities) but there are people there that are constantly around the placards and my early morning was spent in a similar fashion of your riveting and engaging picture.

I knowww the frustration very well myself. I gave up. The only true solution to this is REMOVE IT FROM DUNGEON SERVERS and into an INSTANCE. Please for the love of the gods lol. It's sad when you consider how many thousand people are on each server, and realize there's less then 1 thousand plots of land? Crazy.. am curious actually to any real numbers on servers o.o;

Currently there are 293, 760 plots of land in all FFXIV.

60 plots x 18 wards x 4 housing districts x 68 worlds.

There are currently 748,912 active players if the data in this website, https://ffxivcensus.com is accurate.

Let's hope SE makes a new instanced form of housing.

I have tried and failed 16 times to get housing, via camping a placard. I've been insulted my other players, insulted by forum people telling me how the game in't all about housing, I've gotten no response from SE, and I pay these people Monthly. The game is all about however you want to play it, and no one should be saying otherwise. Housing is broken, has been for a long time no matter how many times they promise to fix it, and something needs to be done.

I oppose this with every fiber of my being. I've seen instanced housing from Runescape and SWTOR and they were awful. No one ever visited my house in those games and I almost never had any interest of visiting anyone else's house in the game. When the house exists isolated in an instance then you never feel a part of the community.

I found a good way to get a house. You know when the server goes down? Right before it does make a note on what houses are up then go to your first choice and log out by the placard. While maintenance is going on refresh the server status page and as soon as it turns green log in and buy it. If it's still not available port to the other ones and buy one of them. If you still want your first choice then relocate.

kidding aside i am hoping for some form of improved instanced housing that is at least on par with plot housing in terms of utility and of course aesthetics, to serve as a starter home that everyone can have access to both sprouts and long time players alike. Since SE seems to, want to maintain as a limited resource, the current plot and district housing system.

I personally would advocate for better apartments and more wards. Calls for instanced housing endangers the communities the players have already built together.
