Disagree. One of the reasons I don't bother to record the cutscenes of my WoL to upload on Youtube is because the silent protagonist translates very very poorly into a video. It's just awkward.
So.... read the lines of the WoL in the voice you hear for your character. That can be the voice for you and your subs/fans. I went hunting for some good FFXIV LPs on YouTube not too long ago. None of them bother to actually RP the WoL lines. Kinda disappointing, really.
That doesn't translate on video. It's just awkward silence, and since so many lines aren't voice acted in this game, the video itself just because a reading exercise. I tried recording the Namazu beast tribe quests on video but the end result was essentially video text with long pauses needed to read the paragraphs while everyone stands still. Much of the "story" in FFXIV is best told via slideshow stills because SE didn't give the story their full effort.
Well, voice acting costs money. Frankly, I don’t see the need to have every quest and sidequest voice acted. It’s just not feasible, and it will take away from other pieces of content. That doesn't translate on video. SWTOR did it so I know it's viable and the game was certainly better for it. Twelve forbid they ever invest the profits of FFXIV into FFXIV.
In your opinion, it was better for it. In your opinion, this game will be better for it. In my opinion, I don’t think there’s a need to VA every cutscene and sidequest and speech bubble in this game. I’d rather the expansion budget be distributed to things other than VAs—like battle content.

Well I've not heard anyone say SWTOR was bad because all the quests were voice acted. It was objectively better to have voice come out of NPCs. It increase immersion and made quests more important when you actually had someone to talk to. And I'd rather the expansion budget be focused on the story over the battle content. Few people are going to remember these battles in 5 years. In your opinion, it was better for it. In your opinion, this game will be better for it. SWTOR did - with different voices for each of the eight class choices. With male and female options that made for 16 voice actors just for the player character. Cost them a lot of money which didn't go to endgame content - with the result that when the game launched, and players got through to the endgame and found there wasn't much of an endgame present, players left in droves. They later added more endgame content, but not quickly enough.
In later expansions SWTOR has cut down heavily on the voice acting. Seems it was just a bit too expensive to have voice acting everywhere.
