Feo Ul quest: do you just hate PS4 players, SE?

Yeah... Not gonna argue against the idea that my wife should get a keyboard. She rarely needs one for anything else though - we do voice comms with our FC, and she generally runs dungeons with me tanking, meaning we can just talk to each other as necessary.

Still not convinced about /say quests being a good idea. It's just annoying.

Hey, I totally I get it. I use a keyboard mostly to chat with my FC and party members. Even with a keyboard I dislike the /say quests. That area especially was irritating because it is so bright I sometimes can't read my sidequest instructions.

I'm on PS4 pro and type on the forums and ingame with my controller. I don't care about the say quest.. what I WANT SE to do is allow us to post links and click links in the chat box.

This would be a good QOL improvement ^
As for chat and what not i also use a keyboard. Used to have wireless but it was problematic so i use a corded one now

You're playing an MMO. Typing text is to be expected.
Either hook up a $5 USB keyboard to the PS4, or switch to PC.

Im a ps4 user and i did not have a problem. Besides get a keybord ur playing a mmorpg.

I play on PS4 as well and although I bought a keyboard at some point, I played for a long time with the PS4 keyboard only and didn't mind questions with /say text. You get used to it. You really do. You even start to type quite fast.

Just to throw my two cents in, I play on PS4 as well and I hate the /say quests. I just absolutely hate them. I have a keyboard and I still hate them. I know that there are only a few of them but I still hate them and wish they would never use them again. I'd hate them on PC as well because to me they just feel like adding a totally unnecessary step to the quest for no discernible reason because we already have dialogue boxes with selectable options that pop up to represent our character's voices.

Seriously though, what is the point of /say quests? Is it supposed to increase engagement in the story? FFXIV is my first and only MMO so I'm genuinely curious, are they common in other MMOS? Am I just dumb for missing the point or is this just one of those weird design things?

On the topic of /say quests, I enjoy when its a phrase to include text because you get to have fun with it. I like to speak phrases in FFXIV dragon tongue for these. In instances of exact text only it bothers me, especially when the text is all lowercase.

On the topic of PlayStation players, I've personally been doing MMOs on the console since PS2 FFXI. As of PS3, it became as easy as plug-in and use and by that point keyboards were dirt cheap and available at most convenience stores in the US (I can't speak on the state of other countries though I imagine places like the UK, Korea and Japan it's likely the same if not more readily available). By the time PS4 and PS4pro rolled around it was even cheaper.

In all honesty, it shouldn't be a surprise that you'd be expected to communicate in a MMO and getting upset at a game expecting you to do the bare minimum when it has in-game keyboard support in the event you couldn't be bothered to obtain your own is both silly and petty.

If you play a MMORPG without a keyboard, you're going to experience friction. What about searching for things on MB? Or talking in party chat?
