Feo Ul quest: do you just hate PS4 players, SE?

Pretty much title. My wife and I are playing through MSQ, she on PS4 and me on PC, and watching her have to put up with software keyboard for this stupid quest increased my emnity considerably.

Please... please stop making us /say things to meet quest requirements. Or at the very least don't make us /say entire lines of dialogue. It sucks hard for console players.

Either way, the /say thing is a poor design decision for a game that sells on console. Sony doesn't include a keyboard with the PS4, SE doesn't indicate that you need one to play the game - you shouldn't be punished with the software keyboard.

Bit of a rant, I guess. It's admittedly a small gripe.

It's 1 quest every few dozen hours, if not more. It doesn't come up nearly enough for SE to "hate console players".

Plus, it's kind of her own fault for getting mad at it after refusing to plug in a keyboard, especially if she knows its supported and you had one on hand.

I'm on PS4 pro and type on the forums and ingame with my controller. I don't care about the say quest.. what I WANT SE to do is allow us to post links and click links in the chat box.

Keyboards are cheap. You have all the tools you need available, and I say this 100% as a PS4 player.

How do you normally communicate in game then if you have such a problem with a couple of quests? If you can get by taking to people, this shouldn't be that big of an issue. I mean it's pretty granted with most MMOs that they will have chat functionality, plenty of other games on PS which are a pain to communicate (text chat) in but just have to deal with it.

FFXIV is an MMO. Communication is important and a keyboard is pretty much mandatory.

Perhaps this is something I would notice more if I didn't have a keyboard connected to my PS4, but I don't think the number of /say quests is that bad? It doesn't seem like they come up very often. I can certainly imagine the Feo Ul quest feeling cumbersome if you don't have a keyboard though. Fortunately, I think that's the only quest where you have to type so much in /say. Most of them are just one or two words, no?

I imagine that something like this was a mere oversight rather than a case of the devs hating PS4 players, heh. I've never felt that they hate us. They do however probably assume that most PS4 players have a keyboard on hand. I don't think I've ever come across a fellow console player who didn't.
