ok so my last one was taken down without warning. whats with these lobby errors SE?

This happens every expac drop, without fail. Happened during Heavensward, happened during Stormblood, now it's happening during Shadowbringers. Gotta accept that no matter how well prepared a company is they can't do anything if jerks wanna attack the infrastructure they're using to deploy the servers. SE can't do anything if DDoS attacks go after Level 3 or any companies like it.

I was online for 6 hours running around old areas. Now I can't even stay connected for 8 seconds in the new city, and now I can't even connect to the data center. And when it "can't connect to data center" the whole app crashes and I have to re-open the whole game, enter my password and a one-time and all that garbage. Way to fail SE. Way to fail. Again. How has *this* specific problem not yet been fixed? It shouldn't crash to desktop...
I love their generic response though. "We weren't expecting such an influx of players to be playing during this time!"
Uh...……… you knew EXACTLY how many players pre-ordered, right? PLAN FOR THAT THEN. I mean how hard is it to add some more server space?

Maybe post in a civilized manner then ?

People need to chill out, seriously lol. Of all the online games I've played over the years, FFXIV has BY FAR the most stable servers. Many of their launches were very smooth, maybe a hiccup here and there (I don't remember Stormblood all that much, but I don't remember it being awful either tbh). Anyway, this isn't a server issue per se, nor is it SE's fault. Give it time and it'll get sorted out :3

And? There was still a problem free period. A DDoS made quick work of that but that isn't really on the devs.

SE tech: So many people are connecting, our servers HW is overheating and dumping people.
SE boss: Blame it on DDOS attack.
SE tech: You know I told you this would happen and could be solved by upgrading the Router to a octa-core ARM 72 running at 1.8 GHz...
SE boss: Why spend money this will solve itself in a few days.

All they need to do is a maintenance to stop them. For been trying to login since 7am with no luck. I get 5006 error or when do get to login get instant 2002 error. Now its 1pm and still same thing.

Nothing can stop a DDOS attack unless the people doing it stop on their own. SE taking the game down for maintenance will not solve anything. The attacks will still be there when it comes back up.
