I think they should be added at the earliest convenience for the devs. As long as they are not forced to overwork or crunch themselves to release it.

Yoshi mentioned a couple of times that with 32 bits systems no longer being supported a huge amount time dedicated to debuggin' is going to be lifted from the dev's shoulders, so I'm assuming once the first couple of big patches go live the team will have a little bit more room to breathe and perhaps work on side tasks. If they really are planning on adding the missing genders we might see them earlier than we think, but I would give it at the very least 8 months to a year.
