The only reason you would do the main scenario roulette is cause it gives a huge tons of xp and the only reason it gives a huge tons of xp is cause it takes more time to clear than normal duties, so yeah this whole topic doesn't make any sense.

I remember having my experience ruined when i first got there back in early patch 3.5.
I'm STILL holding a grudge over that, especially since the damage they caused still hasn't been fixed.
And they didn't even get punished for their abstract thieving ways.
GIVE BACK WHAT YOU STOLE!
Except that's not possible, and it's not like they are going to offer any sort of compensation to their victims either.
The only way to fix it would be to make a new character and work my way through the entire MSQ prior to that again, and i'm not doing that to fix something other people caused.
So once i beat the dungeon i had no context whatsoever for what was happening, and had a skip all the post-dungeon cutscenes as well because THEY MADE NO SENSE WHATSOEVER!
And then suddenly i'm in the Waking Sands, and nothing makes sense.
What even happened in that period between the dungeon ending and my regaining control of my character?
I don't know, because THOSE SPEEDRUNNING VILLAINS RUINED IT!
Bunch of robbers the lot of them.
That whole section is one big blank, and they don't even have the courtesy to explain what i missed because of them.
So. Much. Rage...
So when people demand the ability to skip back so they can keep doing to other newbies what they did to me?
I am not amused. Not one bit.
This is a very sore subject for me, in case that wasn't obvious.

The only way you couldn't know what's going on after the end of the dungeon is if you had skipped the cutscenes at the end. Which no one can do for you. Even after my first time running it I knew what was going on after the dungeon. The only scenes I didn't see first time through didn't really add anything because they were in the middle of the dungeon and the reveal of Lahabrea (which the cutscene doesn't really clear up any more than the fight does). The only change I ever wanted to see with the cutscenes is for it to play them all in sequence instead of dropping some as the group gets to the next boss in the dungeon.
And the people that have run the place dozens, hundreds of times are not amused that they are forced to sit through something they've seen countless times before. Guess the vocal minority wins.

Reading comprehension failure. So once i beat the dungeon i had no context whatsoever for what was happening, and had a skip all the post-dungeon cutscenes as well because THEY MADE NO SENSE WHATSOEVER!
I hadn't seen any of what came before, thus those scenes were out of context and made no sense.
So i had to skip them and go back and try to do it all over again so i could get events in order...oops, you can't, that's a one time only thing.
And of course the people responsible had nothing but laughter to offer.
Buncha foul villains.
"Lol inn" Gggggghhhhh...

So it's not their fault you skipped the cutscenes. My first time through, I didn't even know I had missed any cutscenes and everything made sense. The problem is not other people.Reading comprehension failure.

That would not have happened had i not been forced to skip the cutscenes in the dungeon.
The problem was not being able to see events in chronological order, which was caused by other people.
Thus the problem is, in fact, other people.
It's like being forced to skip right to the end of a movie.
You decide that no, you want to see the rest of the movie first before watching the ending.
But after you go back and watch the rest the ending is no longer available.

Unless someone came to your house and physically forced you to skip them, or bound your hands and skipped themselves, then no one at all forced you to skip.

Seriously? That's the argument you are going with?
"SKIP CUTSCENES OR KICK!"
"LOL WATCH THEM AT THE INN!"
"I HATE NEWBIES BECAUSE THEY SLOW RUNS DOWN!"
It was flat out impossible to clear the instance without skipping everything, because speedrunners acting in the worst way they possibly could.
It's like being forced to skip the entire middle section of a movie and jump right to the end.
And if you decide that no, you don't want to watch the ending first and decide to go back and watch the middle section first, well sucks to be you, the ending is no longer available.
In short, because of other people watching events in the proper order became impossible, thus ruining the entire experience.
And they did not care at all about the damage they inflicted.
Other people turned the whole thing into a disjointed mess and then laughed about it.

It's been said before but I think the best solution is to extend Trusts to ARR content so that new players can go at their preferred pace through Castrum / Prae and cutscene skipping option can be enabled again. Then, finally, the main scenario roulette can be removed and nobody needs to be bribed to help out there any more. Trusts would also help a lot in those ARR leveling dungeons which start out very slow even for absolute beginners. There are bosses that have standing around doing nothing built into them like the first two bosses of Copperbell, just waiting around for enemies to spawn. In those situations Trusts with dialogue during the duties could make it more interesting and immersive, and again you can avoid having to bribe veteran players to go back to those beginner duties which are far below their skill and experience level.

If you sign up as undersized party OR solo, I feel SE should allow the option to skip.
If you are doing the duty finder roulette, then keep them mandatory.
I personally never agreed with the mandatory cut scene being added back into those msq duties. Right or wrong, I do not agree with it.
BUT since it is currently forced in duties, and players are well aware of that, a fair compromise would be allowing to skip in the 2 conditions I mentioned.
♥ MORE HIGH HEELS + INSTANCED HOUSING! ♥!
