I'll live without this.Personally when I played white mage i /enjoyed/ stance dancing, it was fun to me getting the hang of it to where I could go from dps to healing and back at the drop of a hat.
But so absurdly many people complained about having to actually do stuff other than being a glorified heal bot that they changed it, and as a result I immediately got bored, and as a result I stopped playing white mage in spite of it having been one of my favorite jobs to that point and did in fact go dps because I like to keep busy in a party and in a fight, I don't particularly enjoy standing around with rotations that amount to

I will always dps as healer, the community will always expect a good amount of dps from healers, no matter what they ll change about healer’s design that’s because dps is still so relevant in this game people will always choose the healer who heals well and also bring a good amount of damage rather than the one who only heals
But it wasn't Stance Dancing.Personally when I played white mage i /enjoyed/ stance dancing, it was fun to me getting the hang of it to where I could go from dps to healing and back at the drop of a hat.

It was a painfully slow cooldown shift with a glacial gcd. It made weaving dps a chore, not a natural function and then punished you for doing so.
Stance dancing has it's place, true, but not in this game currently if you want any kind of smooth, reactionary healing.
Devs simplified healer’s dps not to promote pure healing but to let healers, who refuse to dps during fight or are afraid to dps and heal, to dps more easily so if people believe that now healers will be focused only on keep the party on and nothing more they are facing these new changes wrongly
Now, you see, this is a false equivalency. While is true we got skill removed and other added, it was not in the same way. Tank and DPS for the most part lost skill that were considered redundant, useless or broken, these skill were spread amount all their kits that is, so Tanks may have lose some attacks (aggro combos) but gain new ones, some defensive skill, but gained new ones. And with DPS is more of the same, in fact most have their skill combined into one and receive new skill to support their old gamplay style or expand it, perhaps even covering some weak points. All fun and good. They are still mechanicaly fun and varied for the most part. The healers though? Only one side of their kits have been simplified to boring levels while the vast majority of new skill are on the healing side. People seem to misunderstand this. It was never about DPS, it was about enganging and fun gameplay. For SCH it was their DPS rotation, for AST the card system. Now they are both gone and there is anything in place to compensate. Add to that that our healing kit have become even more similar, and suddenly the three healers are in a spot where they will do the same as always, DPS and cards for AST, but it will be simpler and more boring.Skill removal happens on every single expansion. Every DPS and Tank got some skills removed and got some new ones, just like Healers.
Healers can do DPS still, the only difference being that the DPs "rotation" got simplified, probably because now healers will need to heal more due to the combat changes.
Also, even if they increase the damage level so we have 0 down time, which will not happen, as all heavy healing instances have been nerfed because people complained (AV, The Vault, Steps of Faith, etc), this still means that we have all past content that will not receive a buff in damage, and therefore we will get bored to tears.
May you always walk under the light of the crystals.

Again, this is not the case. WHM and AST rotation is practically the same. Hell, WHM may actually be a bit more complicated. Only SCH has been simplified. Agree with the part that healers won't focus only on healing, the issue is that the alternatives now are boring. They may be easier, but only because the skill ceiling is now so low you will become a master practically after Sastasha. We weren't given anything interesting to do. No buff, not debuff, not interesting healing mechanichs, not any kind of support, mitigation, nothing. Instead simpler mechanichs that do not offer opportunities to grow as a player.
May you always walk under the light of the crystals.
I'd like to see more debuffs to dispel. A debuff that really is worth the use of an Esuna GCD in stead of a dps spell.
Only place with a poison that were something comparable to a threat was that worm boss in Cutter's Cry, but it is no more today.
Or more stuff that requires healing to full to remove, or requires a certain amount to be healed, e.g an aura that needs 20k health healed before it is removed.
Gives healers more to do as healer, not as DPS

There are two reasons healers dps:
1) Solo game content like questing. Need to be able to kill mobs.
2) Downtime in party content where healing isn't necessary.
The 2nd option will be changed soon in 5.0, requiring more constant healing than we need to now. So there should be significantly less downtime where DPS fills the gap.
