Oh lord LOL.
Oh lord LOL.
thats the thing, re-read your last sentence...its NOT profitable whatsoever right now (box sales are 1 time thing and not selling boatloads), like another guy said its pretty much in beta, so for quite some time we wont be paying for it, we are pretty much waiting on some major changes to the game, like large combat changes. why not keep the servers off, save some money and electricity and come back on when at minimal the big portion of the combat stuff is done (its going to be weird having stuff suddenly play differently all of a sudden anyways)
and as i said, SE can do their math. It's not up to you or me know how they should running their affairs
So where are you getting these "Facts" from?
Also, keeping the game down will only hurt their "low playerbase" further, so it is beneficial in the long run to turn them on and spend more money to keep players playing now, rather than trying to win them back later.
Why risk alienating 100k ppl which is what would happen 90% of the playerbase would walk away and SE would never make a dime on the game. But since you have a Masters in business, which trust is the first thing they teach you about... by all means please tell us what SE should do...thats the thing, re-read your last sentence...its NOT profitable whatsoever right now (box sales are 1 time thing and not selling boatloads), like another guy said its pretty much in beta, so for quite some time we wont be paying for it, we are pretty much waiting on some major changes to the game, like large combat changes. why not keep the servers off, save some money and electricity and come back on when at minimal the big portion of the combat stuff is done (its going to be weird having stuff suddenly play differently all of a sudden anyways)
Also from my POV XI is a running joke ever since SE killed the game with Abyssea making it easier then wow and destroying 7 years of gameplay, so a XI fans perspective right now has no bearing on my care or concerns

Seriously bad troll...When I first seen the Title I just knew Belgianrofl was behind this. However I apologize for jumping to conclusions. However, SE aren't a bunch of kids that needs their hands held when making decisions. If they couldn't deal with the servers being online then they would have delayed it further. Go play XI have fun and stop trying to tell SE how to run their companies power supply usage...thats the thing, re-read your last sentence...its NOT profitable whatsoever right now (box sales are 1 time thing and not selling boatloads), like another guy said its pretty much in beta, so for quite some time we wont be paying for it, we are pretty much waiting on some major changes to the game, like large combat changes. why not keep the servers off, save some money and electricity and come back on when at minimal the big portion of the combat stuff is done (its going to be weird having stuff suddenly play differently all of a sudden anyways)

im not saying keep them down for months, just for a while longer until the power issue is not such a huge deal (the server might go back down anyway as they said) so keeping it down a bit longer for a game not making any money and wont be for quite some time, that liek you said is pretty much in beta, shouldnt hurt. If the playerbase cant hold out for a little while longer, then the game is dead in the water as is. Pople are deticated to the game right now, they wont leave that easy. Add to that the fact they know that they NEED to keep elec use down and that FFXI players as of now are a bit more necessary (aka: we pay monthly and have many more subs) the 14 users should be mature enough to handle it.Why risk alienating 100k ppl which is what would happen 90% of the playerbase would walk away and SE would never make a dime on the game. SE is only putting it back up for a reason you said, to keep people around, thats it.
but some of you clearly cant, and making a logical argument is pure evil to you, so instead of making a counter argument, you make childish remarks.
pretty much a great example of a childish response, no good reasoning here. They only will keep the game running because people like you would throw a fit and stop playing if they kept it down very long, like you pay to play the game or something.Seriously bad troll...When I first seen the Title I just knew Belgianrofl was behind this. Your arguments are not backed by Proof. Prove that keeping them down longer is more beneficial than putting them up now. You can't just ASSUME people are willing to wait. Do you know everyone? Did you hold a poll? Have you done any research into what the player base wants?
And how do you know what kind of impact this will even have on the power supply? Sure, every bit counts, but Japan has a fairly dense population. I'm sure the amount of power the servers are using is nothing compared to what Toyota uses at their plants, which are running.
We want Facts, not baseless assumptions on your part that this is what they should be doing, when you are just assuming everything you say is true.
