    That said, onto the OT, changing to one stat only feels really bad for AST, but at the same time, you only drew for Balance regardless in an optimal environment, so the only difference is less damage. You either got dead draws (Ewer/spire unless you need spread), okay draws (Spear/Arrow), or draws that break the game over their knees (Bole/Balance). Still, I think they are going toward a better direction where AST can use both sects at once in combat. They're doing what they can to streamline the game stat wise for ALL players, not just raids (raiders adjust to most things for the sake of doing maximum output). Give it at least the first raid tier instead of jumping for pitchforks.

    and i never said it was just for raids, its also for duty finder, such that all the roles basically perform the same.

    and no, i didnt only draw for balance, maybe you only drew for balance. Basically, i actually enjoyed playing the card minigame and using different cards with different effects at certain times. It was the most entertaining thing about the job for me, that and some buff extend tricks. Now the job is basically a generic healer with a dps buff button.

    The way they changed it actually makes a lot of sense. Out of the remaining cards, Balance was the only one that ever saw widespread use. And those claiming that Balance isn't the primary card people try to draw now are just lying. So having all cards boost damage is not a bad thing.

    The question was how to split up the damage buffs. They could have done Melee, Caster, and Ranged, and possibly even Tank, but that doesn't line up well with the Seal mechanic (which is the primary new mechanic of cards anyway). So keeping it simple at melee and ranged was what they decided. For the balance pass after release, they may split ranged into Caster and Physical, but overall the mechanic is no worse than what we have now (with half the cards not even used anyway).
    uhh, they could have changed the effect of those cards.

    TP card lowers recast time
    Mp card isnt invalid, but they could make it reduce mp costs for x seconds.

    they chose what they chose because they want simple abilities that are easily balanced, and dont offer uniqiue synergies/interactions. They want to simplify, and unify the roles.

    if they arent somewhat random, it isnt a card game theme and it isnt a fate/playing with fate job profession. What do you think will diffrentiate astrologian from other healers now? Other than appearance and animations?

    To be fair, the AST still is the buffer healing class. It just lost the RNG, some useless cards, and Balance got nerfed.

    I didn't particularly enjoy the random nature of the cards. I'll wait and see how it plays out but I'm not getting bent out of shape because they changed the way the cards work. I'm there to heal primarily and the buffs are only a part of what I do.

    So basically SCH? SCH could buff too but at a guarantee rate with longer cooldown. To be honest all healers seem to have lost an identity which is what I think the core issue people are having. SCH lost a lot of DPS but SE didn't give them a system to replace it. AST RNG Card mechanic was replaced with a guarantee rate of dps buffing. WHM will just got strong DPS spells. If I was to make a pick today on how raids would play out I would say it's WHM and AST.

    I was unaware SCH could straight buff damage of party members, or are we using the "A chair has four legs, and a horse has 4 legs - therefore a chair is a horse" method of thinking here?

    The entire point of AST was dishing out those DPS buffs to other party members. The RNG in AST now will be (although smaller) collecting the 3 symbols needed to give another DPS buff.

    I don't think the healers have lost their identity. AST still has a card system, it's now just focusing more on DPS buffs instead, and the symbols they grant, as well as the sects. SCH is focusing more on the pet, and WHM is.. well.. WHM.

    I don't know if any key features were dropped from WHM, I still have yet to really review it.

    AS I have said before, the only thing that got taken away from AST that I really truly hate, is Celestial Opposition.
