You know, I kinda wish more enrages were like that. Make the boss use tankbusters at ever increasing frequency (and possibly damage). Instead of the usual "(optional spam cast of roomwides ending in) one big cast that just kills everyone".Ultima the High Seraph eventually devolves into spamming her tankbuster every 5~6 seconds or so if you let her live long enough. It's kind of like a soft enrage, as eventually tanks run out of CDs and the busters tear through the healers and DPS. I thought it was kind of neat. Takes about 12 minutes to get her to that point, though.

I like "soft" enrage mechanics, myself. Like how Shinryu breaks pieces off the arena until eventually you just run out of room to dodge. It feels more like a natural progression of the fight, rather than "Welp, my show's on, time to MURDER ALL YOUR GODDAMN FACES OFF".

Agreed, soft enrages feel a lot better.I like "soft" enrage mechanics, myself. Like how Shinryu breaks pieces off the arena until eventually you just run out of room to dodge. It feels more like a natural progression of the fight, rather than "Welp, my show's on, time to MURDER ALL YOUR GODDAMN FACES OFF".

Can anybody spot what's wrong with this picture, considering that my diversion was on cooldown?

Sorry to the new healer, and group I just left from Sohm Ai, but I didn't have time to spend an hour pulling one add at a time, because anything bigger is a "large pull". I don't usually leave, but I honestly didn't have the patience to deal with it right now. I apologize. Wiping to 4 adds is literally too much for me.

As a SAM, ended up at Ridorana Lighthouse via Alliance Raid Roulette and went pretty much smooth up to Construct 7.
The real issue of the run was the last boss. The MT who tanked the previous 3 bosses smoothly spun the boss around endlessly and ultimately cleaved 2 teams to 0 HP. We obviously didn't clear the DPS check the first time around.
A tank from a different alliance stepped up and did better at keeping aggro and not spinning the boss around. However, he tanked the boss at the north for most of the first part of the fight. When the positive/negative phase, I couldn't maintain my DPS on the boss for a small while because I needed to make sure I got on the right floor panel when the positive/negative floor effects resolve.
Although we eventually beat the last boss, I felt salty on the inside and just took a break for several minutes. DPS life is quite harsh indeed with fickle tanks and strange healers.

The DRK, 3rd on aggro, is in Grit. The WAR, 6th or 7th on aggro, has Inner Beast active so they either are in Defiance now, or have been in the last 5 seconds.
Situations like these actually have me worried about the tank changes in Shadowbringers. Chances are, that either the enmity from the tank stance will be so ridiculous you can hold aggro for 2 minutes with one Tomahawk/Shield Lob/Unmend, or good DPS will be stealing bosses off of the worst tanks and won't have Diversion or anything to help with that.
When you wipe several times during The Aurum Vale dungeon (level 47) before seeing that the healer (scholar) had a level 1 weapon and no better weapon in inventory.![]()
