White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
From what very little I've been able to look up the outfit is how the school outfit for both Korea and Japan looked like about the time at least for the women as at least 1920's Japan had the sailor look going on.
It's not that deep. These are domestic clothes. Japanese people wore them during that time, and it's a popular style of kimono in Japanese media even today. Unfortunately yes it's also from the era of Imperialistic Japan.
I know OP has good intentions and want people to be aware of that terrible part of Asia's history, but it's also biased and quite misinformed. The outfits aren't meant to represent or support Imperial Japan. Calling them or comparing them to the Nazi uniforms is highly disrespectful. These were normal, everyday outfits of that era. There's been heated arguments between Japanese and Korean players ever since this issue started.
Well you should think of it in another way, as people changing the idea of those outfits for something good than something bad.
Oh boy, more things we apparently should care for even though we have no relation to it in any shape or form.
Some of the posts here are rather disturbing.
The OP wasn't saying to remove the outfits or to shame anyone who wanted to buy one or to hate the Devs or accuse them of anything. They simply wanted to educate users in the origin of the outfit and about a dark chapter in Japan's past. You buy the outfit, enjoy it, but respect the history behind it and the countless victims who were oppressed or killed. It's not an unreasonable thing to ask of any decent human being. The OP literally couldn't have worded it more reasonably and open minded.
The response to this has been largely "who cares", "people get offended too easily", "lol Koreans shouldn't buy it then", "the Devs don't need to say anything", "it's a game so whatever".
Quite shocked tbh.
