Wait... That lame animation was our super powerful 900 potency attack!?
Really?
Here I was, hoping for something cool and epic... Like maybe something similar to Disgaea's Colossal Fissure
Or well... Anything but a golf club swing >.>

I doubt they would show us the biggest skill first without any buildup, not to mention that Steel Cyclone particle effects were similar, so I'm expecting Inner Beast and Steel Cyclone to get an upgrade, even if just visually.
But if there indeed is some 900 potency skill, that most definitely wasn't it, they would never just recycle Inner Beast animation like that.
In 1.0 and the trailers of 2.0, the dream of being WAR was the steel cyclone AoE.
Jump, spinning around, and a whirlwind of death.
Sadly, 2.0-early SB was a huge disappointment, compared to the Steel Cyclone that 1.0 WAR was.
The zerk change to SC made it start to feel somewhat good again, it felt like were were ripped off, when PLDs eclipse was a better animated SC, and spamable.
So needless to say, PLD got yet another better steel cyclone, and WAR twirls an axe above their head. (looks like the AoE range is that of abyssal drain, looking very small)
All we needed was to boost the frequency of Steel Cyclone, or give us another version(or swap for what PLD got as its new jump eclipse, and give PLD a sword twirl)
oh well.
Im still worried Fell Cleave will be locked to berserk, since we dont have deliverance anymore, and they didnt really address this in their tanking discussions. (but they sure as heck went into details with half the games DPS. just not healers/tanks on an individual level, only details about the role of tanking)
EDIT: After finding out how the new DRK works, with darkside being a timer, that needs to be extended with X of darkness moves, which are cast with Dark Arts effects, which are granted by TBN bubble breaking, I have no interest in DRK.
The ONLY thing i wanted from DRK, was a shield i could put on someone, w/o a penalty attached. Requiring it to break, for the sake of DPS uptime, no longer feels like im doing it to keep them alive, but to maintain my DPS.
I'll just stick to the other 3 tanks. Even GNB feels closer to what DRK was meant to be, than DRK.

If it was an upgraded Inner Beast we're in for a bad surprise because no buff nor heal particles where shown after it which would mean we lost our 20% damage mitigation from IB, I'd much rather take the lame animation for our high pot skill tbh.I doubt they would show us the biggest skill first without any buildup, not to mention that Steel Cyclone particle effects were similar, so I'm expecting Inner Beast and Steel Cyclone to get an upgrade, even if just visually.

The recycled Steel Cyclone at the end was performed right after Infuriate, just like Inner Chaos at the start. Pretty sure it's the AoE version of Inner Chaos, just like Decimate is the AoE version of Fell Cleave.I doubt they would show us the biggest skill first without any buildup, not to mention that Steel Cyclone particle effects were similar, so I'm expecting Inner Beast and Steel Cyclone to get an upgrade, even if just visually.

Other jobs get awesome stuff for their "ultimate" skills, and we get recycled stuff. Quite a bummer.

Not a war main by any stretch of the imagination, but I've always enjoyed Inner Beast as an animation. Butcher's Block and Inner Beast have such a satisfying, simple weight to the animations, that if Inner Beast does get re-purposed into something that's gonna slam out a 50k hit, I'm not going to complain.

WAR definitely doesn't look as fancy as the other ones, but maybe now I can really get into and enjoy the other tanks. DRK looks insane and PLD looks just as fun!
Also, GNB looks pretty average in regards to skill effects, kinda like how MCH was in HW lmao

Well on different forums there seems to be some buzz about that skill not being shown, rather, what we saw is possibly a buff obtained from Infuriate. Both IB and SC had upgraded animations and that was after using Infuriate. Right now that 900 potency skill is single target weapon skill.
Gotta say it's so badass that we can be a helicopter
petition for that skill to be a mount outside of combat.
