why i quit before reaching endgame (feedback from a new player)

Yeah.. Except people DO have alts. I myself have 3 and you bet you bippy it is tiresome. Yes I know there are story skip pots, but not everyone can or wants to spend $$ on them. pyur isn't really saying it should be removed just reconfigured. Or as I said Just uncoupling dungeons, trials and raids from the MSQ would go a long way to appease everyone.

That won't please everyone, in fact that might make some of us quit the game, a lot of us LOVE how we unlock the content via doing the story quest, we love going on an adventure and unlocking these places BECAUSE they are relevant to the main story or branched off from it like we go to Xelphtol because the Ixial are about to summon garduda again, and what does the last boss do? Summon Garuda against us, I love this kind of connection to the main story I feel like I'm actually in the middle of the adventure instead of just a participant. There are many, many MMOs that do this differently, there's no need to remove what makes this game unique and the selling point for many of us. Even Omega was rooted back in the 3.55 MSQ and the raid followed up on those events, just having Omega open from the get go would feel really cheap and awkward. So no, separating the MSQ from unlocking dungeons/raids/trials would not please everyone.

I can give you my reasoning for being against skip potions. I believe that things like skip potions are bad for the people that actually care for the game. It's not because it lets players skip ahead but because it gives the devs an incentive to just ask for more money to get around poor game design. You're being asked to pay for the game twice just because the devs added something to the game that isn't enjoyable. There is no way for me to justify paying for such a thing.

Not enjoying the MSQ does not mean the game is poorly designed it just means there's something you don't like about it that is enjoyable to a lot of other people, not every game has to be for everybody, there are many other games out there that people love that I can't get into or enjoy, doesn't mean they are bad games they just aren't my thing. I love the Final Fantasy series and I love how this game handles the main story quest because it makes me feel like I'm playing a traditional Final Fantasy game. Its fine if people don't enjoy that but don't freaking demand a game be changed just because you don't like the way content gets unlocked in the Final Fantasy games. You don't go from Midgard and go fight Emerald Weapon straight off the bat in FF7.
