The people who kept complaining and will keep doing it are just ignorant and ungrateful for all the work the devs do. I'm so pleased Yoshi-P said basically that money isn't everything, shutting the mouths of all those ignorants who keep saying "I'm paying for this, give me what I want". I can't wait to play 5.0, I'm personally not changing to Hrothgar or Viera, but I'm glad they are working hard for them. I'm no expert in video games development but this ain't easy task. Good job devs. Seriously can't wait for 5.0.

im fine waiting for them to add playable male viera and female hrothgar but i just don't understand why they added hrothgar. why not bangaa, another ivalician race?

I think they misunderstood what the actual request was. It was a greater option of "cuter" males to choose from, since Lalafell and to a degree male Miqo'te are the only real options. Basically, a reverse sexual dimorphism from Au ra.

Ah, that makes more sense, though they also mentioned girls as well. It's also probably harder to make males cuter without also making them look younger, maybe.

Yeah, but I think the reason the Lalafell don't fulfill that particular character fantasy is because of how pear-shaped they are.

to be honest a lot more are pleased then un pleased. Give them time and they will work it out. Demanding they do it now will not fix it. I played both 11 and the original 1.0 i dont care about gender locked races. You can still be all the jobs. They cant pull an unknown gender of a race the original makers have not even made yet without consulting them and getting their consent. Till there are males in the ivalice worlds i wouldn't count on them.

Shout out to the asset artists who went through and worked on so many meshes and textures to provide proper helm/hat support for Viera and Hrothgar! And all without telling Yoshi-P at that! That's how you know the developers of this game love what they're working on.

Yeah no, there were people asking for child version of the races including some on this very forum. Yoshi's response to that was also the same argument used by others against adding them as playable races.

The one thing I'm not happy with is their "hand wave" about the races. I honestly don't know what I expected. But, it's like they are admitting they wrote themselves into a corner, but at the same time don't realize it. I dunno, I feel sorry dor my friend who wanted to be a male Viera, but only time will tell.

As for this while I do still think we'd have been better having only one new race with both genders, the post also brings hope to both races getting their opposite gender added eventually when before our answer was a hazy "probably not happening" based on there being no more races period after this. So long as people keep the interest high it'll have to be seen by them. And while I hope they don't spend their off time doing it (seriously given many industry overworking standards) the fact that the character team went above and beyond on their own time to make many head pieces work speaks well for the future.

Also in agreement that that Hrothgar is dapper as all get out.

I see what you are saying. But what I was saying it was an odd decision to make two races with one gender. instead of one race with two. And we have all seen the male Viera concept art.
