It's interesting to me just how much the Housing system in this game has changed since it's been implemented. I kind of think that not allowing players to sell their homes to other people directly was a big mistake. I understand that they don't want people to artificially inflate the housing market (as if that isn't already happening) but that is a simple fix. If they introduced a price cap this would solve everything. I would love to be able to sell my small house to a friend, but with the current system I can't do that. If I was able to sell it to him for the price of the plot plus "interest" ,as say a 1-3% buffer cap, then I wouldn't be inflating the price of the housing market and my friend would be able to buy a house instead of waiting for a ridiculous invisible timer and compete with 300 other people for it.

Sounds like laziness to me.. if your still paying your sub all it takes is to sign on for two mins once a month to go inside yours house in order to save it. It’s not difficult. This shows the biggest problem with the community in general because a lot of people want everything done for them without any effort

Instanced housing would fix the majority of the problems with the system. Leave the wards as they are and introduce an instanced system like you suggest to run alongside it. Everyone should have access to play around with housing if they wish (and can save up the gil) imo.

The upstairs portion of a small house is smaller than an apartment or FC room. The downstairs portion is the same size.

Personally, I wouldn't want a large house. I'm content with a small, although I think that a medium house is probably the ideal size for decorating. I'd love to take the increased number of garden beds that come with a large, though. This is another reason why I think instanced housing would be awesome. They could make it incredibly flexible; you could upgrade your garden independently of your house size. I'd really love a system like this.

Probably a pipe dream at this point, since it doesn't seem like housing is a priority area for SE. But it doesn't hurt to dream...

In that sense I support it, but I think a better system could be put in place. One idea, and I don't take credit for this I read it from another post a while back, was a lottery system. When a plot opens up, anyone that wants the plot pays the prices of the plot. After a set amount of time, one person is chosen at random and receives the plot. The others are refunded their gil to try again on another plot.

This would require removing the ability to transfer into plots before the timer is up, transfers would need to be put into the lottery pool.

This would make it so that you can't directly sell plots to other players, which SE doesn't want happening, while also taking away the advantage people with autoclicker bots have in getting plots. And also means people aiming for a plot don't have to camp the plot for potentiality hours on end to be there when it opens.

There would be a few things to work out. Can someone pay into more than one plot's lottery at a time and cancel their other lottery bids if they win one, or just limit to one pool per account? Do you give an advantage to people transfering like they have now or do you make it fair between transfers and new house buyers? But I think it would neatly address the issues the timer is meant to address while making the process more convenient and fair all around.
that would truly be a million times better than what they have now. Far from perfect, but at least people could sleep at night.

Read their post properly. They're trying to purchase a house and the placard timer is getting in the way. They're not losing plots they already bought. It's obvious if you bother to read.

I have been going at this for weeks. Multiple houses taken from me just because I walked away to rest, take care of my health, eat, ect.
A lot of my free time devoted to finding a house in game.

Yeah I just spent all day trying to get a small house and both of my hands are in a whole lot of pain and I feel terrible due to not having enough time to get up and eat, only to have someone else get each plot because they can click faster than me after 10 hours of clicking. I don't think the timer thing is terrible, what's terrible is how LONG the timer is. I've read people saying how it can be anything at all, even as low as less than an hour, but so far every single plot I've camped at has been AT LEAST 20. I have to click constantly for 20+ hours straight just for a slim chance? It's absurd. They could very easily have just as effective of an anti flipping tool if they lowered the timer to 5 hours max. It just blows my mind that it's generally so long.

I agree with this. Sat on a med plot close to 10hrs and someone swooped in around the 9th hour and got the plot after waiting for one. Ufufu lots of clicking wasted
