The Peaks sure didn't get much love in this expansion.

You visit it a couple times for the leveling MSQ (I don\\'t think you ever go back post-70), a couple Job quests and the occasional hunt and that\\'s about it. No primals, no additional duties, nothing new (as far as I can tell) since release. Meanwhile Yanxia and The Ruby Sea get dungeons, msq additions and primals out the whazoo. It\\'s like the devs forgot the Zone existed, which is a shame because it has a nice aesthetic (especially around Ala Ghanna).

I suppose in the end it doesn\\'t matter all that much since even unlocking content doesn\\'t require you to spend all that much time there, I just thought it was interesting.

I thought the Peaks were far more interesting than the Fringes aesthetically, so it's sad that nothing really got added to it.

Ala Mhigo definitely suffered a lot from the split focus, though The Lochs probably ended off worse than The Peaks. It feels like the sixth zone is always the one that suffers from being barren, though Azys Lla was probably worse in that regard.

I rank the Lochs a bit above The Peaks because even though it's not new content, Ixion keeps people coming back and you do visit it a few times in the post-70 msq. Also The Burn is there.

I'm still waiting for some of the more unique areas in some of the zones to payoff... The Peaks, The Lochs, Dravanian Forelands especially. For example, that area in the Northeast of the Forelands only accessible with flight that leads to what appears to be a large stone door... where does that go? Will we ever find out?

The Burn is in Othard, just past Doma. Are you thinking of the Ghimlyt Dark?

They were way to focused on the little Japan areas. I mean I know they wanted to pay homage to their own art and history and that is great, but it really should have had its own expac. The war of Ala Mhigo was a long time coming and could have been something incredible if they would not have insisted on making it all about Doma.

Everything, including Doma, suffered for the split story. But Ala Mhigo really got the shaft.

Gyr Abania has a ton of them. Heres this spooky cave entrance and... nothing! Heres this creepy building and... nothing.

MMO experience tells me there should be stuff here. 14 tells me its just a giant cave they put there and didnt bother with after that.

They started doing this because when they had ideas for things to add in ARR, and to an extent HW, they didn't have anywhere for it to go that made any sense.

So they started dropping interesting little things all over the map with no specific intentions, so that if a cool idea sprung to mind, they had somewhere ready to put it.
