They did an excellent job with femroes. There is no evidence to suggest they wouldn't be able to design females of a race based on great cats in an elegant way.
Whenever I read something like 'if they weren't to masculine, or hulkish' [sic] I immediately think of super mutants in fallout. It's an unrealistic design for even the male gender and I'm disappointed that's the route they took with Hrothgar when we already have an unrealistically bulky male race.
I really like the fanart made by twitter user @G_althe (who has since made their stuff private, sadly :[ )
It was similarly bulky and animalistic like the males, but still very feminine and pretty. :>
I don't want it to be elegant. We have elegant. We have pretty. We have cute. What we don't have is something actually bestial. And femininity is not about physical appearance. It's about attitude, how you choose to carry yourself, and the mannerisms you affect. They made the Hrothgar males big, beefy, and bulky because it was the least common model they already had. And there is zero chance they aren't going to reuse models when the amount of works is in the tens of thousands of gear pieces to put on them.
A female that is thicker, and more muscular than a fem!Roe is in no way more or less feminine than a fem!Roe, or a female Miqo'te, or a male Hyur, realistically. Because we impose the femininity on our character. Just like we impose whatever else we want on them. The most likely result is still a fem!Roe body model because they are already using the Roe for the Hrothgar and if they give us Hrothgal, and they didn't make a model first before deciding to genderlock, trying to capitulate to us is going to require as many shortcuts as possible. We'd likely see the same body, possibly minutely % changed where the gear can all have the same done to it, and the real differences would be in the skin textures and muscle definition sliders.
Yes, could they use an Elezen body instead? Sure. They could use a lala body and mess with the sexual dimorphism to the point our eyes would roll out of our heads. But they need to avoid further hissing and gnashing of teeth. And adding yet another "elegant" or "pretty" female to the game when the whole point of the race is supposed to be bestial and different is a slap across one cheek and then a slap across the other. Fem!Roe remodels for a Hrothgal are expected as it covered their reasoning of resource management. No one's going to carry on for a year cause they're like fem!Roe. It fits, even if it's boring. A new model, going further to the bestial side than fem!Roes might result in people saying "I don't want to play that" but they have plenty of other elegant/pretty/cute females to play already.
I think that's because with male viera they were something ppl really wanted to see from may many years ago, and were teased by Yoshida in an interview, while there was just not even the knowledge about what was the hrotgar race until a month ago, and due to it replacing male viera, and having an unpopular body, many ppl grew to dislike them
Male Hrothgar didn't replace male Viera. Female Viera replaced female Hrothgar. They wanted to make Hrothgar first but felt obligated to implement Viera in some form due to fan demand, and these races potentially being the last ones to be added in. Also, we had multiple leaks hinting towards Hrothgar.I think that's because with male viera they were something ppl really wanted to see from may many years ago, and were teased by Yoshida in an interview, while there was just not even the knowledge about what was the hrotgar race until a month ago, and due to it replacing male viera, and having an unpopular body, many ppl grew to dislike them
If people want male Viera in but don't care about female Hrothgar, then they aren't complaining about the genderlock. They're complaining about the fact that they don't have male Viera.
Hrothgar didn't replace anything and there's no way to tell how popular their body shape will be.I think that's because with male viera they were something ppl really wanted to see from may many years ago, and were teased by Yoshida in an interview, while there was just not even the knowledge about what was the hrotgar race until a month ago, and due to it replacing male viera, and having an unpopular body, many ppl grew to dislike them
Hrothgar were added because of the massive demand for a beastly race and the devs have wanted to do a beastly race for some time now. They were the ones who the devs planned for, the ones that add something new to the line up and expand the options for players in a meaningful way. But this seems to be it and if no Viera now then you're letting down all those fans ... even though they add next to nothing other than another attempt at an attractive female. Maybe rounds out the anime girl tropes that the races match up with.
As for the topic at hand ... after reading the tiny bit of lore we have I feel like females for this race would be different than the males. I'd imagine a cross between Captain Amelia and a Pantera from blessed.

First of all, please look at male roegadyn.Hrothgar didn't replace anything and there's no way to tell how popular their body shape will be.

Second of all, maybe they didn't replace them (or at elast is what SE says), but they did show viera first, and for many ppl male viera were replaced by hrotgar.
Not to mention that while there was a demand for beast races, it was no where near as big as the demand for viera, with BOTH genders, and as you can tell by this thread ppl wanted an actual race that was more beast like, not 1 gender of a race that was more beastlike
