I would never look back if they added this.

Final Fantasy games for me have been mostly about the story. It's what I enjoyed most out of the multiple experiences. In a new age though it's hard to keep peoples attention with plain text. Take World of Warcraft for example... In the 5-6 years it's been out I don't think I've ever read a complete quest when an NPC as given it to me. I know tons of people that don't pay attention to the quests which could be a massive part of the story.

A problem that Final Fantasy 14 is that the story telling is not very good. I recently started playing Star Wars: The Old Republic and I was amazed to find myself wanting to finish every single quest dialog that I came across because of three reasons. They are fully voiced, cinematic and interactive.

I know SE adding something like this is a bit of a long shot but mixing this kind of system with Final Fantasy seems like it would be so amazing!

It's a good and bad thing they don't have any voice overs. Have you seen quest npcs? Would you rather sit there and not pay attention to your objective or be forcefully (because you know SE won't let us skip it) stuck there for 10 minutes while they read their 4 paragraphs of scripted nonsense?

Ah thanks for reminding me atleast one of the reasons I could not stand that game. Simply, plastic. The other, sure, the quest are voice acted but I found the story, and NPC lines to be really cheesy. Sure it's a nice touch for the game. Which is great in Theory, major problem with that game is, after the story is done its still the same game, ala WoW, Rift. (Then again I dislike games like those)

But yes, I do agree. (Although I liked the story lines so far) That they need more voice acting, although I careless for questing.

They could if they wanted to. It's present in FFXIII-2 (controllable story outcome), however in terms of voice acting, all MMOs that have some amount of it for even generic quests reuse voice samples when able (especially the bigger the game gets), so it wouldn't add too much when you get to (new town on other side of the world) and quest NPC sounds like the dude you helped in your first 20 minutes of playing.

To be honest, if I wanted some voice-acting, I would like it as simple as Monster Hunter, where people simply say some words that express "Hello!" "Goodbye!" "Haa-!" "Wow..!" "Huuh...". Take also the Xenoblade Chronicles voice-acting while interacting to NPCs.

Questing should be an option for people to solo. Soloers are very common in MMOs whether you think people should be forced to group or not, grouping is mainly left for endgame and endgame alone.
Fully voiced quests a long with response options that have an actual effect on you is fantastic and its been given raved reviews by players and developers alike.

i don't know i kinda like voice acting, its great when your drunk and got blurry vision :P. but yes there is point about same voice being used over and over again. "i used to like voice acting till i took an arrow to the knee". if i ever hear that again, i will go around there and cut somebody's legs off. "there now you don't need to worry about your knees" grr

What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.

It isn't a bad idea but FF has never been a "choose your own adventure" type game.
