Easter is always sunday---why would it be a floating holiday? I thought those are only for holidays that normally get off, that happen to fall on weekends.

It is on sunday, but then, the following monday is a holiday (I think it's that, didn't check). It's called easter monday.

Just depends on the location. In Canada we have both Good Friday and Easter Monday as holidays (not floating), whereas that's not the case in the US.

I had forgotten about it. Went to bed a few hours before it started thinking I'd have time to level more when I got up. But it was announced months ago. Am I upset? Not really. Maintenance like this is needed to keep game like ffxiv running. Plus I have other games to play/things to do. Since I work nights I'll be up when the servers come back and start my grind again.
