Well UK and some other countries also have an Easter Monday public holiday, along with the Good Friday holiday as well. Sunday isn't usually a big deal because well... it's just like the majority of other Sundays.
I would disagree. Today wasn't a bad choice at all. The only fault here lies with players who were apparently unaware of this maintenance and how long it was scheduled to take. It had to be done and it's happening at a slow time anyway. Get out and do something or play other games. FF XIV isn't going anywhere.
I live in Los Angeles. I had no idea there even existed something called Easter Monday AND I went to Roman Catholic schools for K-12.
My work changed our floating holiday to Good Friday. Other than that, there's nothing to indicate Monday after Easter is anything special.
The complain isn't about the fact that people got suprised by the maintenance but the fact it is on a holiday for some (EU).
Yeah I have the day off too.
But I knew this was coming. I did some extra grinding last night to make up for it. 36 bars of pagos light in one day! (´Д`)ヾ
Things like this always happen on a Monday, as Tuesday is their weekly reset. Been like that for as long as ARR has had their timers.
We've also known this was coming since November.
So complaining about it as it happens is a bit... well...

So? The holiday won't change date because of that.
Yeah, I agree it sucks but I won't complain over it. It just sucks.
It is in some country.
