I think in the first section we wipe because I mistarget Lustrate and heal myself instead of the tank. Controller, you see. This uncomfortable nightmare of some people being up, some others being dead, and others running for their lives begins, but it ends. Anyways, the tank stops to adjust for a bit but the Samurai just keeps going and engages the next group of enemies alone. As I mainly play tanks this actually offends me and I sit back partially because I think this disorganization will get me killed and that I hate it even if it wouldn't. The tank apologizes for not being fast and fairly reiterates they had not tanked this dungeon before, the Samurai asks if we can simply "run through and kill everything." Tanking and spanking single clumps of mobs through the dungeon is not hard, and between here and until we encounter the Demon Tome, nothing so terrible happens but I start to get the suspicion that with the 60 boosts being on sale, we definitely have one person who bought one for Samurai. I don't entirely disdain the use of those. "If it works, it works." I say, and I honestly thought about using one for Dragoon to avoid torturing myself in Palace of the Dead, but I do find it a little strange someone bought a jump to 60 for a class that starts at 50.
We get to the book and discuss what to do with it, and if memory serves the Samurai insists on just attempting to slice it repeatedly in chat. Because of this, I have to raise her when she eats a laser because our discussion on what to do was apparently unheeded. This expensive use of MP gets the Samurai an opportunity to die to book beams a second time, which she quickly seizes. After I take too long to resurrect her we are short a DPS, and have to beat the Tome with three people, which we do, because it's an easy fight if you pay attention to the mechanics. I found that I frequently did not even Lustrate the tank enough time to empty my Aetherflow charges between cooldowns.
After this a mechanic replaces our samurai and we happily joke at the Samurai's expense for the rest of a relatively smooth run. I entertain the belief these jump to 60 purchases be limited to people who have reached 60 on another class or character.
