I hope they are not as time consuming to obtain as Ifrit or Moogle weapons. Even AF in FFXI wasn't that hard to get. lol

I think you can look like a FF character even wearing common low-level gear. Especially as a caster. Just run through a few of the story quests and you'll have enough gil to get cool-looking gear in the markets. It might make some sense to some that one should have to surrender to the whims of the 'success is everything' types just to not look like a rube, but should that really be necessary just so you can look like you are actually a freaking FINAL FANTASY character? That's all I'm asking for, really.

I've got over 150k on my real main, and a good bit of low level armor. I mean you can sort of approximate a black mage, but a white mage at most you might get by with a white hooded cowl but no triangles or anything.

True, a specific look may be tough to get together at low levels, but base starting gear in FFXIV looks waaaaay better than the rags most mmos start you with. Add to that the character models, which are among the most awesome I have ever seen, and I think most characters look very cool soon out of the gate.

I hope it is some form of quest like hunting coffers and stuff and not just a raid!

They need to add it from multiple things, this could be a good way to incorporate it into old elements of the game and add some life back to things no one does anymore.
Do it like XI did, if you have the quest flagged it turns a chest in a 100% drop of the item.
-Open the Batraal chest (one that comes just from killing batraal) with af quest flagged 100% chance you get your body armor as one of the drops from it, all members flagged get their af from it.
-Chest in Strongholds can have 1 say hands
-Talk to some npcs and get a piece after completing a quest line, say feet
-Spawn a force spawn NM and return to the Npc for your reward (kill a mob), say head
-Kill the tier 3 faction leve boss in the nation of your class/Job guild for 100% drop from the chest, say for weapon
I have a strange feeling it will probably be more likely they will come from the new dungeons but I am hoping SE revitalizes the content no one does anymore honestly.
I hope it is not all soloable honestly, the jobs are designed for partys would make sense for at least some of the AF armor to come from group activities.

I can only hope the job gear is party based content, I'll be disappointed if its soloable.
I don't really get why people are acting like it'll either be super hard or super easy, not some kind of reasonable middleground?
I'd expect it to follow a route relatively similar to XI's, where you have a story arc and a few cutscenes along with some boss fights that'll probably need at least 2-3 people to take down. If they incorporate some of the present content like strongholds and the up-coming instances I don't think that's particularly hard either.
I dont want it super easy. I Dont want it super hard.
I want it to be party based content.
If completing the level 30 quest unlocks out job, all other job quests should require you to be on that job to continue. Which means you should need a group, since you are gimped soloing on a job!

I just want some fun with my friends and not be able to solo my AFs like 70% of the game.
I hope it will be some interesting quests, with cutscenes, why not some coffers farm, bosses etc.
