The SCH who was with me decided that wasn't good enough and decided to start pulling stuff since apparently SCH is now a tank. Like, I'm sorry I'm not fast enough and you want to rush through, but it'd be nice if you took my lead and just went with it especially after I mentioned it was my first time tanking. I started tanking 2-3 pulls at a time to keep the SCH busy, but that's because I felt passive aggressive. But a little patience goes a long way for everyone and makes the content so much more fun, even the old ARR stuff.
    When I have situations like this I become a little trolly to prove a point. If the healers want me to pull more then fine I ask how many they want (usually wall to wall pull) and thats what we do. I can only use my WAR as an example cause I dont have it at 70 yet. But I'll time my cooldowns as best as I can and fight the best I can but when I die an the party wipes I wait for the blame for doing something wrong. I will then ask the healer what specifically they would like me to do differently and the answer is usually "Use cooldowns" well buddy boy I used all of them available to me and still died. I have food and potions and everything so what EXACTLY can I do to not die???. Usually in this time they are checking my parses and see that I do end game raiding as a tank so I just might know what I'm talking about. I'll ask one more time "Please let me know specifically what I can do to not die on a wall to wall pull AT LEVEL (not synced)and I'll do that, if there is nothing, then I'm going to do smaller pulls." Usually right around this time they shut up and go at my pace.

    I'm not that kind of tank that abandons duties if I'm mildly annoyed or inconvenienced. I was a DPS once, I feel for you guys on that 45 minute queue so I'll put up with the petty-ness so you can get your clear, but mark my words, I HAVE BIG HANDS AND IF YOURE BEING A JERK, THAT SHIRK BUTTON JUST MIGHT GET FAT FINGERED

    What is it with healers who just bounce around the instance, waiting to heal instead of actually contributing? I got into Dusk Vigil last night as a last minute leveling dungeon and it was /painful/. I was wondering why the tank was single pulling every trash mob until I noticed that the healer was literally jumping around when people were topped off. Like, literally abusing the space bar and hopping around like a rabbit on crack until they deigned to participate - which was rare. Not once did they throw out a DoT in spite of playing WHM and after I focus targeted them after the first boss I noticed they didn't put out any DPS at all. Not a single stone or holy was cast. Which, okay, fine, maybe they just are nervous and prefer to keep the tank topped off. Well... No? They barely healed at all. There were several times the entire party was one room wide AOE away from wiping because this healer had their thumb up their nose and simply wasn't doing anything at all - not even really adjusting for mechanics.

    I wish I had spoken up or just left the instance, but at that point I just wanted my clear and to go onto the next roulette. Which in retrospect wasn't the wisest move - but I just don't get how you can get all the way into HW content and be /that/ bad. Even the newbie healer I got later in Guildhest roulette was better - and they were a FRESH baby who didn't understand that they had to actually heal the tank at all. At least there I could chalk it up to genuine ignorance and did work up the courage to offer some advice but you kind of expect that with a baby player. Not someone who had several level 50 jobs and definitely should know better.

    On the flip side my 50/60 roulette was smooth as butter. I wish I could have comm'd everyone in the instance as it was the fastest I've ever completed Gubal HM. Everyone contributed, if people made mistakes they fixed them on the next attempt, and everything positively MELTED. It was the highlight of my roulettes this week.

    Been leveling Monk lately and so far it's been surprisingly smooth with the exception of one vault run where we wiped 3 times on ser charibert as people died to chains and I had to tank as a monk going into fist of Earth stance for a bit(i won't begrudge the healer tho they were new to the instance and as someone who healed the vault as AST before I know how stressful it can be especially on ser charibert with the spawning horses and chains)

    I'm surprised by how much I've come to accept monk....I've used to rant about this job almost non-stop but now that I actually attempted the rotations myself....it's not that bad(still wish Alphascape savage wasn't such a chore for melee jobs tho)

When I pointed out that not only the lb was not a waste because it hit its targets BUT that it was going to fill to the max again by the time we'd get to final boss' wing phase, he replied that it was still a waste cause we're using it on leftovers. I was considering a comeback when the healer steals the show with this line: "So your plan was to use lb only once this run as opposed to being used twice. Yup, this lb was a total waste /eyeroll".

    Nothing was said any further during that run from the brd.
    If you've got nothing but caster/ranged then trash or ads is what you should be using them on--especially there (in Bardams) where they hit hard. I know the final boss is a special case but in so many instances its nearly dead before you can generate lb2 and lb1 doesnt always manage to 1-shot it. They were obviously being salty for no real reason but at least they wanted to use it at all. So many times I've done LB3 as BLM because the other dps is too worried by the almighty parse to lose any to animation lock. -_-;

    I landed in Void Ark for roulette. Two DPS immediately bailed. It's Void Ark. Tied with Syrcus as the easiest raid. Anyway, things went on. Looked at the other two tanks, both were in DPS stance. We got to the flap-flap. I turned on Shield. Saw someone pull, wasn't paying attention to who it was. I noticed the name when provoked and shield lobbed. After the fight, I looked through the party list, and I did one of my biggest pet peeves. It was one of the other tanks who pulled and I stole aggro from them. Luckily, they didn't fight me for it or say anything and I just tanked the rest of the bosses. Other tank if you read this, my bad. I wasn't paying close attention and that it was DPS who pulled.

    You know what happens when someone gets bitten by a shark during the last boss of Shi Sui? You know what happens when the boss emerges and all of the sphere aren't burned down before then? I didn't until today. Run that dungeon probably hundreds of times and never seen a wipe to that boss or in general.

    Also I think I encountered the one WHM who doesn't use Holy. Will still DPS,but only single target spells

    I know black mages love their leylines but until today I have not witnessed one willing to die for it. Second boss of ghimlyt dark uses freezing missle and begins the second dive. Black mage had his leylines in the dead center of the arena. After the boss dashes across, no hesitation whatsoever, teleports into his leylines in the lane of fiery goodness. instantly dies in 3 ticks.

    It was amusing.

    To be fair, there are not that many aoes that linger damage like that. They might just have expected it to be safe after the boss went past. I did the same on my first run... xD
