So to those who think "complaining" and "whining" wont do anything why exactly do you think we currently have male miqotes, female highlanders and female roegadyn??

Do you see how frustrating it is to see the same person and team who listened to these concerns and fixed an issue so blatantly repeat the problem?

If you don't want male Viera and female Hrothgar that's perfectly ok. But don't go around saying those who do are entitled and should just be quiet bc nothing's going to change when the history of this game we all love shows us that this team can, does and will listen to its playerbase.

They're apt terms to describe the backlash when so many of these threads are being made. Keep the feedback to a single, constructive thread and ensure that it remains active and visible.

What Theodric said, if it was confined to a single thread it would be much better. They wouldn't have to go searching through so many different threads because each person thinks their opinion is unique and deserves its own thread.


Another note, i really do think the west's opinion is the minority.

I decided to click around and went to the other forum sections for the other countries. And boy is it the complete opposite. Nobody is angry, nobody is barely discussing it, and if it is brought up they are friendly. Using google chrome to translate the page, i could get a very rough understanding of what they were saying, and i didn't see any hostility at all. It really makes you wonder why it is such a big deal here, but nowhere else in the world. Granted i didn't go out searching everywhere, but from the quick glances i saw there was no drama.

You're not gaining allies, you're losing them.
Try to be polite, try to not be hostile, and try to be agreeable. Antagonizing half of the community or the devs doesn't help you (or anyone for that matter).

Voicing concern and expressing the desire to see something in the game is one thing. I have no problem with that. I don't hate the idea of male viera either, although I hope that if Square does introduce them they do it in a way that makes sense within the lore. I haven't seen any lore regarding female Hrothgar so no comment on them.

Then there's acting like a spoiled brat and throwing an overly dramatic tantrum by threatening to unsub. These posters are like children in a toy store who throw themselves to the floor and cry and thrash when their parental unit won't buy them the toy they want. Do you really think this is the best way to approach the issue? Especially as the first option?

1. Because it means that if you want to play a certain race you are "locked" into a certain gender. Other mmos have jobs that only be played by certain races and those jobs are referred to as "racelocked."

Speaking as one of the people that has a subscription ticking down, you do realize that multiple threads being generated in the opening days of controversial issues is how it always starts in NA threads? It isn't even native to this forum.

And sure many are the result of less than honest reasons, you have attention seekers, people that are arguing against the thread, people that are complaing about the complaining.

Any one of them posting on those side threads bumps the thread for all to see.

It is just the nature of NA forum threads, stick your posting to the threads that you like, or make new hot button conversations, there is no need to bump the thread with a response if you truly think it not worth discussing.
Of course, that genderlocked races is the hot button issue we are once again talking about is more SE's problem than ours.
