We can probably assume that if the Aetherite is the same, the greatwood is also on the first as well. Which would mean all city states seem to be accounted for except maybe Ishgard.

Eulmore + surrounding areas (possibly Kholusia?) = Limsa Lominsa and La Noscea
Ahm Araeng = Ul'dah and Thanalan
Rak'tika Greatwood = Gridania and The Black Shroud
Lakeland + Crystarium = Mor Dhona (Most obvious one really)
Il Mheg = Possibly Ishgard and Coerthas?

    I don't think so.
Firstly, the Greatwood is the scene in the trailer with Y'shtoya and Uriangier, and her words 'until our friend returns, I'll hold the line' implies they've got things on the Source covered while we're off on the First.
Secondly, I'd expect some areas still on the Source, and we'll likely get some kind of settlements for both Viera and Hrothgar on the source to provide them with lore.
We already know that it's home to Viera, and that puts it within the Golmore Jungle.
Nu Mou are also a new beast tribe, and as an Ivalician race, I'd expect them in the Rak'tika with Viera, on the Source.

Il Mheg is definitely Dravania. I'm assuming that the Greatwood will be our Source zone, since the Golmore jungle is confirmed to be in Dalmasca. They can probs fit the Nu Mou and Hrothgar in there as well

But this new shot of Ahm Araeng has the sdame aetheryte as the rest of the First Shard.
There is the also the possibility of mirrored zones on the 1st and source like the races.

It would mean we could get 4 zones for the dev time of about 2 with cosmetic differences between the two

Which would also mean that you get 8 zone in the expansion as apposed the 6 that have gotten in the last 2 expansions . Would mean that both images are right.

With how the First has been consumed by light, I don't think 'Othard' exists there any more...
    Norvrandt is all that exists.

I'm not saying 'Othard' dose or doesn't exist on the 1st and also not saying they corollate to the same zones on a map in this version of mirrored.

    I'm saying this version of mirrored is the reuse of assets, examples;

The Hyur character assets from the source have been use as the character assets for Humes on the 1st.
The Lalafell character assets have been reuse in the 1st for the beast tribe of Dwarives with some cosmetics.

What I mean is the same reuse of digital assets. However not with character assets like the two points above but with zone assets like for the Rak’tika Greatwood. It may have be used 2 times in different places with some cosmetic changes. Giving us 2 zones the Golmore Jungle in Othard and the Rak’tika Greatwood in Norvrandt . Those 2 zones cost for the dev time of 1 zone plus a little time for the cosmetics differences between the two.

To a limited extent they have done it before in Yanxia with 1st time we went to the House of the Fierce on a much much smaller scale reusing the zone assets to make the pocket space were its aetheryte is yet to be rebuild.

So doing if you went from the Golmore Jungle on the source and travel around a bit then dimension hopped to the 1st and ended up in the Rak’tika Greatwood or vice versa, we would get a real sense of déjà vu between the two place despite them being worlds and zones apart.

This idea holds the most water and is what I was going to say.

Look at Ahm Araeng. Notice the crystallized water. This suggests that Ul'Dah maybe never came to be in this world as during the water catastrophe that destroyed Mache, the cataclysm was frozen in time.

The Greatwood also likely developed in another direction with the spirits of the wood being more fierce about keeping people out, and only allowing a more select group of people in.

Another guess we can make: Midgardsormr and his brood only exist on the Source, having arrived AFTER the split, due to the fact Middy makes a pact with Haedalyn. Coerthas might have instead become home to the Fae in place of dragons... or perhaps Titania also came to The First fleeing something.

I think Kholusia is Novrandt's Gyr Abania. The hills remind me of the pale mountains in Fringes/Peaks/Lochs.

If that image is correct it's... not quite hard confirmation but soft confirmation the Au Ra have some draconic ancestry. "Drahn" is draconic for, well, dragon.

The problem is.... Midgardsormr came to the Source. From the sound of it, dragons (and draconic speech) are probably only found on the Source. It does beg the question of where that that name came from. Although... "drahn" does not mean "dragon" in draconic. The correct term is "dran". Still, it's so close to the correct term that it does make you wonder.
