Please understand that male moonkeepers are more than "they just get born less"
They are highly territorial. They leave their clan when they come of age. They live alone in the forest for most of their lives, only coming in contact with clans to mate. And they are extremely antisocial.
This was all reasoning as to why they weren't available in 1.0, and the lore characterization has not changed since.
We're not really glossing over anything when we say "they ripped moonkeeper lore and tacked on a long lifespan."

The male miqo'te "lore" is just an excuse for why they don't want male miqo'te as player characters. If you consider, they are saying males are secluded from the world and taught to not know anything about the world. Sound familair to how women used to be treated? Just because someone wrote it doesn't mean its good.

I am not unsubbing from the game due to the gender locks - I think they are a bad idea, but I am not discarding the entire game due to them. I am disappointed, but still. I would be extremely happy if we could see the genderlock removed eventually. I have a bunch of alts and was really looking forward to playing a male viera, and I personally would adore being a female ronso! I play Charr on Guild Wars 2 and I played female tauren on WoW. I enjoy beast races, but gender lock is a no-go from me.

Which is inherantly sexist lore. Male verias are "only good for breeding". They are literally captives that cannot leave and serve no purpose aside from having babies.

I have been holding onto one Phantasia for years in hopes Viera would be added. When Viera was finally announced I was SO HAPPY. However I was worried you showed female only. I thought it was a tease because after all you got rid of gender locking from the 1.0 races. You also slipped in lore in game of males existing l, although rare. In hindsight you likely meant for it to dissuade me however it only made me more hopeful.

Seeing that the race was locked from my gender really really sucked. While it was not the intention I am sure for me it also hurt the FF14 brand. I have been playing nonstop since 2.0. And paid over $800 in sub fees alone (my wife too). I know it is a lot of work, and I still love the game and am playing it. I feel a little silly for being so passionate about it.

Please reconsider gender locking races. I won't ask for another one again I promise!
