Adding my +1 in support. Female Roe and Male Miquote were added to this game to remove the gender locks. It seems backwards to add gender locks back in. I'm always in support of more options and greater customisation.

I also do not buy the argument that the lore is the reason the male viera were not included. They made it a point to say male viera do exist. Even female viera basically are never seen because of how rarely they leave the forest, it would make more sense to me to have a male viera venture out into the world than female viera. I've always taken the descriptions of male viera to be basically if you've seen one you are now dead because he killed you on sight. It wouldn't be much of a leap for one male viera to decide that in order to protect the forest he must venture outside. For lore, the warrior of light (darkness) would be that one male viera who left the forest.
So I'm adding my support for male viera and I think the lore supports male viera being included more than the idea that it means male viera shouldn't be included.

Please do not take other people's happiness and immersion for your own "pleasure".As a player with more than 3500 hours in this game, honestly I don’t care if it breaks the lore. I enjoy this game’s mechanics, community, and other playable content. There are a lot of other things in the game that “breaks” the lore. For those that think male viera breaks the lore, they can simply choose to make a non-male viera character? Since all the important cutscenes are single player anyways. Please do not take away other people’s happiness for your own pleasure and “immersion”.
I have no intention of playing Viera male or female and I'm a bit worried about how many people would actually play male Viera to make it worth the dev cost, but if enough people would play it, then it should be added.
These NA players trying to bully the dev team with political stuff such as "This is X-phobic" or "It's the current year" or my favourite so far "They should change this if they don't want to come off as conservative and uneducated" (Have you played the Stormblood MSQ?) really should not be part of this discussion.
You're not going to strongarm Japanese developers with NA political issues.

Other players aren't canon, WoL is unique. Don't take other people's happiness, immersion, and representation away for your own "pleasure"
I don't see you telling male miqo'te to go back to their tribe, the shroud, duskwights to go back to their caves, xaela to go back to the steppe, or raen to go back underwater.
I'll stop thinking there's some weird bias when devs stop calling players who want to play a less stereotypically masculine male "Weird" and when people's reasoning for encouraging SE to not finish a race stops being "eww I don't want you to ERP as THIIIISSS"These NA players trying to bully the dev team with political stuff such as "This is X-phobic" or "It's the current year" or my favourite so far "They should change this if they don't want to come off as conservative and uneducated" (Have you played the Stormblood MSQ?) really should not be part of this discussion.

Plus, males must be super macho (AND WEAR PANTS!!!!), girls must be pretty, naked, and thin, then yeah that's pretty sexist. It might not have been their overt intent, but a message is a message. They're excluding women from being STRONK and beastly like the male hrothgar, and men from being ethereal and sexual in the way that they find the female viera sexual.

Adding my support. I wouldn't ever play one myself but as a roleplayer I hate the idea of genderlocked races. And I personally think they should have picked one full new race instead of two half races.
Though I absolutely would not expect the missing genders here to be added before 6.0 at the earliest I do hope it happens one day. I'm surprised they did this again after filling things out with highlanders/miqos/roes in 2.0.
I understand and respect the argument from the dev team and community that the reason we aren't going to see male viera is down to lore, however, from a personal point of view I was rather hyped to make a male viera and to try and create something close to King Kazma from Summer Wars and I'm disappointed I'm not going to get the chance.
As this thread alone shows, there is an appetite for male viera in the game and I really do hope they rethink this design choice in gender-locking both races. I'm sure there are many in the community the feel the same about the lack of Female Hrothgar.
Choice in an MMORPG is never a bad thing.
I have also 3300 hours in the game, and i literaly had headache after i saw the viera is genderlocked, and i was in a very bad mood. I like to assimilate to my character, but i cant assimilate or act like a woman as a male (in real life), i really looked forward to the male vieraPlease make it happen!

Bro, what's your endgame here? Honestly, don't understand why you're here. The devs are looking at feedback, we have confirmation they're looking at the feedback. This is a thread that so far is being rather tame and given support and feedback. ????These NA players trying to bully the dev team with political stuff such as "This is X-phobic" or "It's the current year" or my favourite so far "They should change this if they don't want to come off as conservative and uneducated" (Have you played the Stormblood MSQ?) really should not be part of this discussion.
