While I completely feel for you and all my other healer comrades that main healer, I still dont think it's the best idea to write off a entire expansion because 1 of the new jobs wasnt a healer.


I'd at the very least wait and see what changes they make to the current healing roster and if thats still not enough then make your decision. That's just me though.


I just think its a huge loss to bank your overall enjoyment of a game based on not getting another healer, but everyone's different and if that's the final nail in the coffin for you then I wish you well on whatever you decide to pursue.

The easiest argument is: If you're going to spend 4 years not being able to properly balance healers to your own standards (they started they wont release a new healer until THEY feel the healers are properly balanced), you might as well give people filling 25% of your duty and party finder groups something new to play around with while they do that.

They cant balance DPS the way they want (mch is getting another complete rework for 5.0) and yet, we have yet_another_pewpewguy.

Yeah, that argument hasnt ever worked.

You dont join groups as a ranged dps or a melee dps or a caster dps. you join as a dps. You fill the same role (outside role actions, of which, theres 1 that matters for anything) as the swordyguy or fireballer. You, regardless of which sub-group of red thing you play, are ~50% of the small little boxes that have to fill up before you can go into an instance. Healers are 25% of the small little boxes. Saying "one subrole of a role needed to have as many options as the entire healer role" isnt a workable argument.

They said we weren't getting one in SB because they, instead, wanted to spend time balancing them. If that still never happened, why should we think it will happen now? It's a poor reason. At this point you may as well wing it since if you can't balance you can't balance. May as well let healers have a toy.

How do you know they are not working on it? I do see they are doing job balancing every major patch. What would 4 th healer do at all beside fuel the fire on the original problems?

The precedent of hearing the exact same reason being given 2 years ago. Will they actually do it this time? Maybe, but it would be rather silly to assume that it's actually true this time when we have heard it already and it wasn't true. It's not impacting my hype for ShB, but let's be honest here.

Clearly, I don't. If they haven't managed it in TWO WHOLE YEARS, why in the world would I think they are going to do it in a mere three months? As I said, at some point you have to stop with the "but we want to balance". I will take it all back if things do end up balanced, but right now the radio is playing the same song and claiming it's different. I have ears, I can tell when it is the same song.

Oddly, I would be fine with this. If they said "Three healers are all we are ever going to be able to manage." I wouldn't LIKE it, but it is what it is. It's the maybe next time.... no not yet... maybe next time..... that is tiresome.
