Inversely, me wanting to enjoy playing a slim, sexy girl is an affront to women everywhere, reinforces negative stereotypes of women, and is a direct assault on the LGBTQ+ community.
Despite being ardently lesbian myself. Must be some sort of "internalized misogyny" /s

Obviously you're not doing the whole lesbian thing right.

I’m gay and I enjoy both slender and muscular guys, but I don’t go screaming that I’m gay in game. I log in to play the game and have fun, not insert my rl into it. Granted I do sometimes flirt with cute healer guys from time to time.Inversely, me wanting to enjoy playing a slim, sexy girl is an affront to women everywhere, reinforces negative stereotypes of women, and is a direct assault on the LGBTQ+ community.

No, there aren’t. Miqo is not girly at all.
Oh, same. I thought to make it a point here because you have these people get it in their heads that this sort of thing is damaging to the LGBTQ+ community, when that couldn't be further from the truth. I've been posting in the threads with the same question to the exceedingly vocal minority about that perspective and none of them have been able to give me a straight (no pun intended) answer.
I don't feel damaged at all, as a woman and as a gay that, the Viera are feminine and the Hrothgar are masculine.
I didn’t say it was an LGBT issue. And Midlander with low muscle tone is still incredibly buff. Just not to 300 levels
I mean its a globally marketed game, there are obviously going to be variances in what people want. What gets drowned out on the forums is the recognition that everyone will not want the same thing. There tends to always be this assumption of majority consensus and the poster speaks from that position. Personally, I wanted male Viera but the version I wanted was not feminized like others clearly wanted. Ultimately the devs made choices, and we got what we got. While I'm not happy about it, I will very likely still enjoy the MSQ in 5.0 which is ultimately the reason I play FF14.Those archetypes being cultural doesn't mean they have to be abandoned or fought against. There is nothing wrong with adhering to and liking the cultural norms of the time and place one was born in, just like there is nothing wrong with the opposite either.
People have failed to explain why a game company shouldn't design their game to look the way the devs find appealing or what they think the customers will find appealing. Whatever was considered masculine/feminine/attractive in previous centuries is not relevant, because long dead generations are not subscribed to this game. We are.
...btw I would say " long dead generations" is a bit disingenuous. Just looks at the changes from the 80s, 90s to now. What is considered a muscular male build for example has changed drastically. Ideals of what is attractive evolve over a single life time, as do societal norms....
