Im fine with the ronso if its what ppl want but why not both genders. If they had done no viera this time and male and female ronso cool go them for doing the non "human" race. Its the why only one gender or the other that is sad. Variety is a good thing. Even "lore" bends in manys cases why not this.

Because it was maybe easier for them ? As said more than once, Au ra should have been the only race added in the game without any others. They did choose to listen to the community and add the 2 races that people asked, Viera and Ronso. Maybe it was easier for them to add what was already existing ? Female Viera, they dont have to fully work on creating Male Viera ? And they did add Male Ronso as the other gender, which wasas also already existing and made it easier to implement in this game ?

I do think it would have been an harder work to create fully Male Viera.

And if instead they did implement no Viera but Male and Female Ronso, people would have still cry about no Viera at all. People will never be satisfied.

I don’t know. I’ve been on these forums for a while and I’ve seen how they linger on things and keep bringing it up. If you think the complaints will end that quickly I think you’re sorely mistaken. I *do* think they will taper off eventually, but we shall see.

That's because the people shouting "homophobia" and "sexism" and "we want equality" are being dishonest about why they are upset. They aren't upset about "gender equality". They don't care about the awesome Viera lore where badass women tend to their own affairs. They don't want to play big badass Ronso ladies, they don't play Femroes, they play catgirls and catboys. They want more catboy-flavored glamour options because for whatever reason they've tied their identity into solely effeminate boys and god forbid other options exist for anyone else.

They're upset that the Ronso are big and muscular. Viera men would have been tough, lean, muscular--not catboys. They would have complained about that kind of Viera.

I have a couple of Femroe alts that I very much enjoy. I don't main them because my mains typically are closer to my own body type, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the diversity and polish they add to the game's world.
I enjoy seeing the players who do feel represented by these races and playing along side them! I enjoy the stories the NPCS of these types (#MoenbrydaGotRobbed)
At least one of my friends was really looking forward to being a male viera dancer, and while i'm neutral to happy we got another ranged physical dps since mch, I'm absolutely crushed for him because he was teased with the opportunity to create a character that could better represent him in game for the past two fanfests only to get a swift "lol jk you weirdo bunnymanlover, put on some pants" during the last one (nearly a month after preorder items were delivered, don't miss out kids, SE won't do you wrong we promise!)
I have the capacity to care about the game and its world outside of the very narrow bubble of my main, and I really don't understand how so many people can go "lol doesn't affect me, this is great!"

I order a chicken dinner from my local restaurant.
The waiter asks me what seasoning I want.
I say whatever is fine.
The waiter brings me two half-cooked chicken breasts with different seasonings on them.
Sure, it's technically double the concept of what I wanted, but neither of them are finished and would honestly make me sick if I consumed them. And in the end I really wanted one finished dinner.

That's this genderlocking BS in a nutshell for me.
No Viera this expansion? Oh well we got an awesome beastly race! There's always next expansion for that elusive, long-awaited race.
No Ronso this expansion? Oh well the Viera crowd finally got their bunny elves! Maybe they need more time to polish the helm tech for a more bestial race. There's always 6.0!

And yes, I used hysterical. This is not the end of the game, the design, or even most of these peoples' subs (though they threaten to be leaving.) This is hysteria, a riot, much ado about nothing.

As long as they don’t add gender locked classes like certain other mmo’s do, I don’t really mind. I will say, as I’ve mentioned before, that the gender locked races is not something I would have ever expected. After all the hype and build up from the last two fan fests, they really ended them on a mediocre note.

I also have a friend that was excited to try out the bunny man cause cool something different that they could dress up in nice glam. A favorite of theirs is full plate armour. The idea of a bunny man in a suit was brought up in our conversations about it. Would have been cool. They now belive the fan service gender won out and the typical guys have to be big and buff also won out. The potential was so high for one race with both genders i do agree they didnt need to add. Nice they vaguely listened to players.

The complaints about the world server shuffling died down pretty quickly, and those people had legitimate difficulties.

But the hype was never build by SE, not about Male Viera. They only talked about Viera, and never showed once a Male Viera or even talked about having them in game. Players just did their own fantasy about it. I never expected to see Male Viera, and i think a lot of people did think like me.
