Never let these threads die. The dev team brought this on themselves. They knew how much we wanted this. They remember how we campaigned against it in 1.0.

Big support. And female Hrothgar. Make it happen.
both male vier and female hrothgar need to happen, there's no reason to limit us like this. many people would love to play them.
100% support for this. I hope SE sees they made a mistake and decide to fix it.

If I remember correctly, the devs promised to never gender lock again? That's bound to piss some people off.

+1 from my side, for so many reasons.
- they handled the way they presented the fact that we got genderlocked races in pretty much the worst way they could have. If they would have presented the Viera at the same time as saying "Yeh, you'll only be able to play females btw", the backleash of the community wouldn't have been the same as it is now, after all the hype they built up dodging the question of males
- the Hrothgar we got presented instead of the male bunnies just look unfinished and unpolished. So even of the group of peeps who were looking forward to that new race, a lot are disappointed with what they got.
- the point of "making excuses because of lore is invalid" got brought up so many times, I don't think I have to go deeper on that one.
- they had genderlocks before and changed that. So why go back and do the same mistake twice?
- the more I think about it, I'd have loved to see female Hrothgar, oof.
- on a more personal note, of all the things they could have announced at the keynotes in Tokyo, I was hoping for male bunnies the most. Not even the last job announcement, story, setting etc were hyping me up that much. The fact that everything they presented before the reveal excited me, just to let it all crush because of that, leaves me pretty speechless.

See... This argument is coming from someone who was looking forward and probably changing to male Viera.
'Viera' is hyped for 6 months. No other race teased or anything. Then on the very last FanFest, they decide to announce Hrothgar. Which I'm not gonna say nobody wanted Ronso's(btw why not make the main name Ronso which would make it easier to advertise for fans of FFX? But I digress) because I know quite a bit of people did. But Viera was announced. Nobody was gonna scream MORE for a race than they normally would if you added the other gender to the already-announced race, like it's always been since 2.0.
Also... Using lore as an excuse is baffling... If you don't want to/can't make male Viera, sure, w/e, I'm not gonna argue there, it makes no sense to me but sure. What's the explanation behind no female Hrothgars? They're busy at home taking care of the kids? I doubt it based on how Ronso's were typically depicted in FFX. And also why specify that male Vieras exist in the lore, even explaining how they're basically all very skilled hunters, to then pull the rug from other people who came to expect something as basic as "This race is going to be both male and female".
I hope for the addition of female Hrothgars just as much as male Viera. They aren't for me, I'm not a huge fan of the look, but when you add a new race, you should allow any and all of your players to play it as they wish. Even moreso in an MMO in 2019.
Come on, let's not take steps backwards with this.
What?Give us male Viera and then I'll start paying my sub again. This hurt and it hurt bad. This is a ragequit moment for me. Goodbye until they add male Viera. This is homophobic. Still afraid of adding male bunnies huh? Stop the pathetic excuses and start listening to the people who play this game.
How in the world is not adding a male version of a race homophobic?
#notallraiders

It's 2019, stop making giant beefy men and petite dainty women and give us the petite men and beefy women. Remove the gender locks. C'mon.
