Am I the only one somewhat pleased by Dancer?

I guess you must have missed the fact that this thread was meant to be passive aggressive towards people who are unhappy with the current changes coming to the game. As well as to make the original poster feel like his opinion has more value than others, I mean the meme didn't give it away at all.

Technically, we were not promised any specific jobs or roles. I don't remember Yoshi ever telling us we'd get a tank and a healer. It's unfortunate that the leaks were inaccurate, but we cannot hold SE responsible for any misinformation the leakers may have spread in violation of their NDA.

I'm quite sure it was actually Yoshi himself that addressed it. But I could be wrong, but I could have sworn he addressed it in a letter or something.

They're 100% allowed to be unhappy. I just think that they're wasting their time coming to a thread about people wanting to express that they are happy about it. Especially when they're on the soapbox of "An undefined amount of people in this thread are only holding snowflake opinions to feel special."

Things happen when people are frustrated. That being said it doesn't help that you literally post a meme calling healers salty for being upset. Just putting that out there.

I'm okay I might give it a try, personally there's only so many ways you can do a healer and the game doesn't have enough ranged physical dps, (we only have bard and machinist right now) so adding another one is welcome.

I'm not particularly upset that DNC is a DPS, but I am certainly a little disappointed.

I was aware of the possibility of it being a ranged DPS, and it fits that role nicely enough. However, it's also true that with no healer release in ShB, there will be far too long a time between healer releases.

I'm not going to jump to conclusions though. For all we know, they could yet announce one. It could also be a surprise, or it could be released in conjunction with a part of the ShB story later where it might make more sense, from a story-perspective.

Looking forward to Dancer. I used to main healer, switched to DPS in Stormblood and now I will have new class to play with. Only thing to disappoint me was no female Ronso, but female Viera Dancer will be fun aswell

Fair enough that people act irrationally when they're frustrated. As much as it doesn't help to meme, it doesn't help to call an undefined amount of people posting in a thread "Snowflakes in a blizzard." So I think right now it's fair to say the eye's been had for an eye, and let the thread get on and probably die in the next few hours.

I am somewhat pleased with dancer. I haven't seen the details but I expected it to be damage.

In a way, it is justified that the person isn't happy. Healers were told that this expansion would have a new healer and tank. There is a new tank but..doesn't appear to be a healer. So that's waiting two years to be told a lie..unless they're hiding something.

I like how Dancer looks and wouldn't have mind it being a ranges dps at all if they had only given us a new healer. It's nothing against the Dancer class or anything, again it looks really nice. It's just I feel like while the devs listen to one part they went deaf to another. Playing Healer is not always the most rewarded way to play and if something goes wrong you are at fault. So to bring back some spice to a healer life, a new job was highly requested. Especially after seeing that DPS had so many option to chose from. So it's not the Dancer job's fault.

I'm very pleased by dancer. The only thing I don't like it about it is that I want to level one, and I already struggle to keep my RDM and DRK geared.

I know why others are disappointed, though... It's been a moment since we had a new healer, but I stopped expecting a new one once I realized that the developers are deathly afraid of deviating from strict adherence to raid balance and the holy trinity. The whole BLU as a 'limited job' thing was a pretty good indicator that a job fitting into a role as narrowly defined as the one the other healer jobs currently occupy would either be just a reskin, or simply not added to the game at all (SE has chosen the latter option).

If people want this to change, they should advocate against the focus I have outlined above... Somehow I don't see that happening, though.
