    I was just talking about this with one of my friends and I am happy to come across it here. The idea of there being a gender locked race (I haven't been through all the posts, so I am sorry if I am repeating someone else here) when they decided to remove the gender lock upon re-release seems backward to me, so why start now? The only speculation I have is they wouldn't introduce a gender locked race when they've proven that they can give the male/female counterpart to seemingly gender locked races.
    I could be super wrong about this, but those are my only two cents. (-:

    They could fit male Viera easily in the lore if they say something like "the garleans violently cleared forests, and many (male) Viera had nowhere to go, and became adventurers.
