First off, there are some people who are both with both male and female genitalia. Second, we don't know enough about the brain to tell if the mind isn't constrained by biology in that way. After all, our mind is made of the very physical and biological neuron pathways.
Someone who is trans could very well have a brain structure more similar to someone of the opposite gender. We do know that there are differences between female and male brains, based on differences on how autism is expressed in different genders. The brain is incredibly complex and more research is needed.

Nice little lie you got going on there before you say something stupid do some research
have you ever seen a male viera? last i saw in ff12 male viara dont exist, and pretty sure they didnt in tactics either.

"The viera are set to become a playable race for the Shadowbringers expansion. Their starter gear will be based on Fran's outfit from Final Fantasy XII."

if there are male viera in the expansion then ill concede, however im completely convinced the viera in ff14 will be a female only race.

if you want to argue that intersex are the next evolutionary step for humanity, what is the benefit of having both male and female genitals? ill humor a philosophical discussion on the outdated form of impregnation that every mammal on earth is apart of.

I am not arguing that intersex is the next step of humanity, I was just stating a bit of a quirk with the word "disorder".
As to how having both male and female genitals can be beneficial, considering there are already animals that can change their gender based on the environment, and presence of mates, who's to say that couldn't benefit humans if the conditions of our planet drastically change? We would have to have an individual who could produce both eggs and sperm though first. (scientists have managed to do that from stem cells already, but I don't think that really counts.)

what mammals can change their sex at will? ive heard of amphibians and other lizards who can do that, but not any mammals.

our bodies are built to withstand a very specific amount of hormones that are gendered. a male with too much estrogen will have low sperm count and a higher chance at having a stroke or heart attack and even some cancers. an imbalance of chemicals in the brain is an attributed cause of depression and anxiety and many other mental disorders that are seen at a much higher rate in the intersex and/or trans community.

Ah, but you didn't ask IF humans could do it, you asked what the benefit could be, which I answered
Scientists have managed to produce eggs and sperm from the same stemcell, so who knows if science in the future could make individuals that could produce both. Maybe there will be humans in the future that produce stem cells that can change depending on hormones that get released depending on the environment, who knows!

It's so weird seeing someone argue sex has to be binary or else it's a disorder / defect, and 'gender' doesn't have to be binary. If intersex is a birthing disorder, then being trans-gendered is a mental disorder.

I don't have a horse in this race but in game in ffxiv right now you can talk to a guy who lore dumps on male viera.

Male Viera exist. Talk to the Wandering Dramaturge after completing the Ivalice quests, and he'll explain about Viera society and how the males' role in it means they live as lone wanderers protecting the forests, never seen by outsiders and only returning to their village every few years to mate. It's quite possibly a lore justification for only including female Viera characters in the game, but the males do exist whether we get to see them or not.
