So which world(server) is the worst?

I was on Balmung for years and recently transferred off. For the most part, many people are really nice but there is some truth behind the horror stories. Overly big egos thinking they own an npc they role play as, stalking, overly sensitive people that think that their opinions is the word of God. Yes, you can find these people on every server. But I feel that a certain vocal community that was on Balmung a few years ago was astoundingly toxic. I could fill up this whole thread of horror stories that I experienced while rp'ing an npc on Balmung and I thoroughly believe it was this circle that a lot of horror stories originated from mainly due to these people taking their drama to tumblr and discord servers. The kicker? These fractured circles of cesspool people decided they wanted a fresh start on a new server because they had gained a bad reputation. I can think of four different groups that all hated each other and all stirred the pot on tumblr and Balmung and kept the drama alive that transferred to Mateus. (Which was funny because then they all accused one another of stalking each other onto Mateus, ha!)

To my knowledge, many of these people now do the same thing they were doing on Balmung on Mateus. Its a small group of people, honestly, but fandoms be wack and they are found through Tumblr which lead to meet ups in game etc. Not saying all npc rp'ers are bad, most I'm sure are kind. Just like the servers of Balmung and Mateus. But dear lord did these groups cause a lot of havoc and drama!

Louisoix isn't so bad really, there's still available houses in most zones and dungeon queues are usually pretty fast. However anyone thinking of moving here be warned. Our economy is completely screwed up. You either have items saturated by bots with multiple stacks of 99 dirt cheap, or you have to pay at least double what an item costs on Omega when it comes to glamour and crafted stuff. Trying to get that single gemstone or lump of wood is almost impossible as it's either flooded with big stacks with perhaps a single item that costs more than a stack of 99 or there's 1-5 stacks of 20-99 at ridiculously high prices. Many times while levelling my crafters I have found myself screaming at the screen when I check marketboard for the one item I can't seem to get to drop or can't craft yet. The flip side of this is that it is quite easy to save up for a house but with one caveat. Pretty much anything you decide to sell will suddenly have 20 people come out of the woodwork and undercut it to worthlessness if it hasn't sold within a few minutes.

With this statement, you're entirely correct, our economy is pretty messed up. However - you will always find at least one stack of an item, especially true for HQ armors and weapons (non-capped, eg. between lvl 60-70) with a reasonable price. I have an alt on Shiva and got the problem that a lot of stuff were either not available or waay to overpriced. So I guess in terms of that, Louisoix can be very handy for newcomers, also because they can save up and afford a house rather fast and without fighting over vacant plots - just like you said.

Also, I rarly had any problems selling stuff on the marketboard. Even if you have not the best price/value, people will eventually buy your items - even for unpopular ones like the ARR relic materials XD If you want to get lots of money, I figure rare seeds (gardening), lvl 6 crit/dh materia and minions do quite well on our server.

So I've been on at least thirteen separate servers, with at least two more than once. Let me break them down.

Exodus: This was where I first started. Wasn't too bad, but I think it's deadened over there since it's been on the preferred server list several times now.
Brynhildr: Wasn't too bad, but left because there seemed like there was going to be a civil war in the Lalafell community.
Lich: When I was there, it was pretty much as dead as the thing it was named after.
Faerie: Server was okay. Was more of a case of being there for people who had later decided to quit playing.
Balmung: As much fun as I make of it, it's surprisingly not that bad of a server so long as you're not expecting things like housing, and I even hope to come back there one day. Just um....avoid Ul'dah at all costs if you can.
Cactuar: It's sorta like Portland, Oregon in that it just produces its own brand of weird. Not bad, just weird.
Moogle: Very much a French server nowadays. Lalafell community there is a bit too much into loli stuff.
Omega: I went there when it first opened up, and I was probably the happiest I've ever been in the game the day after that 90-day transfer lockout had lifted.
Louisoix: Wasn't too bad when I was there, but no real incentive for me to go back there.
Lamia: Not a bad server, but there was one guy in Limsa who was such a public nuisance that someone started a GoFundMe to pay for that guy to be transferred off the server.
Midgardsormr: Another server that isn't too bad, but not really one I'd feel like going back to.
Mateus: I'd honestly like it if wasn't for the fact that everyone seems to expect everyone to be an RP'er. If you like to RP, then it's the server for you. Otherwise, don't bother with it.
Adamantoise: This is where I am right now, and it's nice. Will I transfer off it when we get the free transfer period? Yup.

TL;DR: Omega has probably been hands-down the single worst server I've ever been on, but it's been a while since I was there and I'm not sure if there's been any change in the population there.

I've been levelling an alt (technically former main, long story) in Mateus for a few months and honestly it hasn't been bad at all. Pretty peaceful, hunts seem to be active, and haven't seen any "weird" RP around (I normally don't go to Ul'Dah so idk if the horror stories are true) and when I was looking through the housing wards there was also nothing weird going on (although I didn't go into many houses, of course, was looking for an FC). Oddest thing might have been someone /dote-ing me in Gridania while I was wearing the Shisui set which was actually kind of flattering lol

That's funny! I made an alt (now my main) in Faerie for much of the same reasons lol then found a pretty good LGBT+ accepting community.

On every server are bad apples. I'm both Phoenix and Louisoix and have no problems there. But there are definitiv bad apples around. It's like in RL: every country have a differend kind of people each with their own attitude.

What i can tell you about Odin server is it has probably the higest average level of player skill out of any EU servers.
The market is really bad though.The amount of undercutting is desperate there.It's a hard server to make any gil.On the plus side it also means that alot of prices have been driven into the ground.
I dont think its a very good server for new players either as its too raid focused which means not mcuh time to help newer players.
It also is the undisputed champion for worst hunt community out of every single data centre.None can rival the toxicity that goes on with hunts there.

Moogle server is full of people that dont know how to play their jobs or do mechanics even at lvl 70.They are actually famous for it and the bane of duty finder in the EU.Some might say a lot of them dont even care about playing the game properly.I've heard there is a lot of rp there too.

Zodiark is a very friendly community and extremly active.A lot of new players have come here now so the population has increased dramatically.The market board is qustionable at best.The prices are literally just random in how they change.There is no pattern to it.In the plus side you can get some really great deals there.
I think we have one of the more active Eureka player bases too here.
